Description
Overview: A Safe Haven, a leading provider of comprehensive behavioral health services, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated QMHP to join our Adolescent – Intensive Outpatient Program. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide therapeutic support and counseling services to adolescents struggling with behavioral health challenges. We are looking for a skilled clinician who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our clients and contributing to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Responsibilities:
Therapeutic Interventions: Providing individual, group, and family therapy sessions under the supervision of the Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA). The QMHP might implement treatment plans and therapeutic techniques designed by the LPHA. Client Assessment and Evaluation: Conducting initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients to determine their mental health needs, progress, and any adjustments needed in their treatment plans. Case Management: Coordinating care for clients, including connecting them with additional resources, supporting transitions between levels of care, and ensuring all aspects of their treatment plan are addressed. Crisis Intervention: Responding to crisis situations by providing immediate support and intervention, including de-escalation and safety planning, while following protocols set by the LPHA and the program. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and timely records of all client interactions, therapy sessions, progress notes, and any incidents that occur during treatment. Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team: Working closely with the LPHA and other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists, nurses, and dietitians, to ensure a holistic approach to treatment. Education and Psychoeducation: Providing clients and their families with education about mental health conditions, treatment approaches, and coping strategies. Supportive Counseling: Offering support and guidance to clients outside of formal therapy sessions, helping them navigate daily challenges and reinforcing therapeutic techniques. Monitoring Progress: Regularly reviewing and reporting on clients' progress to the LPHA, participating in team meetings, and adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Compliance and Ethics: Adhering to all ethical guidelines, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements as mandated by the LCSW and the IOP. Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field from an accredited program. Current licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Illinois is a plus, but not necessary in the role of QMHP. A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience providing therapy and counseling services to individuals with behavioral health disorders, preferably in a community mental health or outpatient setting. Experience in working with adolescent clients. Strong clinical assessment skills, with the ability to formulate accurate clinical impressions and treatment plans based on client needs. Familiar with evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients, build therapeutic alliances, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. Commitment to cultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds and identities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and resilience. Knowledge of ethical and legal standards governing the practice of social work and counseling, including confidentiality, informed consent, and mandated reporting requirements.
