Description

Position Summary This is a full-time sleep medicine faculty position. The rank and promotion track will be commensurate with applicant's experience. Duties Responsibilities In this position, the incumbent will perform patient care on a full-time basis, no less than forty hours per week, to treat patients at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System, and to a medically underserved and diverse patient population. This will include six half-day adult sleep medicine clinics and interpretation of sleep studies generated by the clinics. Additional clinical and scholarly opportunities may be considered based on the candidate’s training and interest. The incumbent will assist the Department to teach, train, and advise medical students, residents, and fellows in the fields of Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine, and Pulmonary Critical Care. The candidate is expected to conduct medical science or medical education research, with mentorship, in the fields of Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine, or Pulmonary Critical Care. The candidate will also assist with curriculum development and perform university duties and administrative services as assigned. These areas are essential to any academic medicine program and an integral part of medical student teaching and resident/fellow training. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
