Description
Responsibilities
This position description does not represent a current opening but may be used to identify candidates with skills and experience to fill a position within Technica Corporation once the contract is awarded. Candidates who express an interest may be considered for future positions at Technica Corporation. If a position becomes available that aligns with your qualifications, our recruitment team will contact you.
Technica Corporation is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, self-directed individual to fill the Air Force Base Infrastructure Modernization (BIM) Senior Network Engineer position. This position supports the design, implementation, integration, hardening, qualification testing, and deployment of a modernized Air Force Base Area Network (BAN) infrastructure. This role will directly support the deployment of a standardized, resilient, and scalable wired network architecture based on a Layer 3 IP-Fabric with BGP EVPN control plane and VXLAN overlay segmentation, replacing legacy three-tier network designs with a modern spine-leaf architecture.
The Senior Network Engineer will provide technical leadership for core, distribution, and access layer modernization, secure enclave segmentation for NIPR, SIPR, and other mission enclaves, infrastructure hardening, qualification and acceptance testing, migration and cutover execution, and transition to operations. The ideal candidate has deep experience in enterprise and DoD network engineering, routing and switching, high availability design, network cybersecurity, and deployment of mission-critical infrastructure in complex operational environments.
Responsibilities
Lead the engineering, design refinement, implementation, qualification testing, and technical deployment of a modernized wired network infrastructure.
Support the deployment of a standardized EVPN-VXLAN spine-leaf/IP-Fabric architecture for base modernization.
Support the establishment of a Network Integration Lab (NIL) and the associated activities to certify the wired network design before deployment to the target site.
Develop network designs in accordance with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) formats.
Support the Air Force Program Management Office (PMO), the local base Communications Squadron, and the Task Order Manager (TOM).
Work closely with the PMO/specified personnel to facilitate effective planning and timely execution of critical objectives.
Support qualification testing, integration testing, failover testing, and acceptance testing activities.
Troubleshoot complex network issues affecting performance, routing, segmentation, security, and availability.
Support the PM with subcontractor interface requirements.
Notify the Air Force PMO and the TOM immediately of any technical problems or issues.
Provide Tier 3 advanced wired engineering support after production network transitions to the sustainment phase.
Support the preparation and approval of engineering documents prior to submission to the Air Force PMO. This includes, but is not limited to, Site Preparation Requirements and Installation Plan (SPRIP), previously known as, Telecommunication Systems Installation Plan (TSIP), Preliminary Integration Review (PIR), Critical Integration Review (CIR), and Integration Plan Acceptance (IPA), System/Subsystem Design Document (S/SDD), Qualification Test Plans and Procedures, and Assessment and Authorization documents to achieve an Authority to Operate (ATO).
The position will be based in Sterling, VA, or at other select locations as required by the contract and may support a hybrid work schedule. The final approved work schedule arrangement will be coordinated with the hiring manager. This position may require 10%-20% travel.
