    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Under the supervision and direction of a Track Supervisor, Foreman, or other assigned employee, the Trackman will perform various track maintenance, repair, and construction duties with a “safety first” focus.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>0700-1800 Monday-Thursday</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Starting pay is $21.73/hr. After qualification goes up to full pay at $25.56/hr.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Miami, FL</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Transport, load, and unload materials</li>\n <li>Operates track maintenance equipment, power tools, and hand tools (i.e., portable grinder, spike puller, rail saw, track wrench, spike drivers, etc.) in order to perform various track maintenance assignments</li>\n <li>Loading, unloading, and general handling of materials and equipment as instructed.</li>\n <li>Provide safety watch while other team members are working</li>\n <li>Assisting other employees when and where instructed</li>\n <li>Adhere to FEC Safety Policies & Procedures at all times. </li>\n <li>Other duties or tasks as assigned by manager.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly re­quir­ed to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear or smell.</li>\n <li>Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly works in outside weather conditions.</li>\n <li>Prolonged exposure to loud noises </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li>\n <li>Valid credentials required by federal and state laws</li>\n <li>Complete annual training and pass safety and track worker rules examinations.</li>\n <li>Will be required to operate railway highway motor vehicles.</li>\n <li>Must be capable of operating all FEC Maintenance of Way vehicles in its fleet, both manual and automatic, and must qualify and secure motor car maintainer permit. </li>\n <li>Upon employment, new hire must successfully complete and pass all FEC Rules Classes: Safety, Operating, and Roadway Worker. Must complete all requirements to obtain FRA A & B certifications and pass test within 30 working days.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  </li>\n   <li>Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
