Avison Young has been recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies for the 13th year in a row, with a Platinum Club designation! </p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>We are looking for a <strong>Market Intelligence Analyst</strong> who will take the lead to produce accurate and informative reports that focus on current relevant information including micro and macroeconomic trends, public policy, market statistics, commercial developments, noteworthy news, etc. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside all service lines within Avison Young. The successful candidate must possess strong administration and task management skills, exhibit excellent organizational skills, demonstrate an eye for detail, and must thrive in a fast-pace, team environment.  </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Market Monitoring & Data Collection</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Actively track commercial real estate activity including new developments, tenant movements, sales transactions, market pricing, infrastructure projects, and other indicators that shape supply and demand.</li>\n <li>Conduct advanced searches using internal and external resources for availability, vacancy, sales, tenant information, zoning and planning restrictions, demographics, and title or ownership details.</li>\n <li>Monitor relevant news sources, economic updates, company announcements, demographic trends, and real estate–related publications to maintain continuous awareness of market conditions.</li>\n <li>Gather micro‑level real estate data including building attributes, renovation status, tenant information, and active or historical listings.</li>\n <li>Maintain a comprehensive office availability database by conducting monthly market surveys to track listings, vacancy changes, and absorption; execute precise data entry to ensure all internal records remain accurate, current, and reflective of real-time market activity.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Data Management & Data Integrity</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Input, maintain, and enhance key datasets in Avison Young’s proprietary platforms, including lease comparables, sales comparables, company profiles, property records, and other critical inputs. </li>\n <li>Work closely with national and regional data teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of information across sources. </li>\n <li>Support recurring data updates, including property sprints, quality checks, and weekly platform refreshes. </li>\n <li>Use Excel, BI tools, and other analytical platforms to clean, interpret, and synthesize large datasets into usable insights.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Reporting, Analysis & Insight Development</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate in the creation of regular market reports, quarterly updates, and analytical briefs covering vacancies, rental rates, absorption, supply pipelines, and investment activity. </li>\n <li>Draft clear, concise commentary that explains market shifts and their implications for clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders. </li>\n <li>Prepare presentations, charts, visualizations, and statistical tables used in proposals, pitches, client meetings, and internal communications. </li>\n <li>Support ad hoc analytical projects such as market deep‑dives, sector‑specific research, and custom data requests.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Partner with brokerage teams to ensure they have timely, relevant, accurate market intelligence that supports business development and client advisory work. </li>\n <li>Build relationships with landlords, brokerages, municipalities, and property managers to confirm and supplement market information. </li>\n <li>Participate in research meetings, market discussions, sales meetings, and conference calls.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>General Support, Field Intelligence & Continuous Learning</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support research requests such as demographic data pulls, corporate verification, title searches, traffic counts, or neighborhood‑level analyses. </li>\n <li>Contribute to special projects and cross‑departmental initiatives as assigned. </li>\n <li>Pursue ongoing learning through reading, training, seminars, and engagement with internal experts. </li>\n <li>Respond to internal research requests and support special projects as assigned; continuously develop skills through team collaboration and self‑directed learning.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>BA degree in Economics, Statistics, Commercial Real Estate or equivalent</li>\n <li>Previous experience working in a research role within the CRE industry is preferred</li>\n <li>Analytic with strong written and verbal communication skills, proofing, and editing skills with a drive for accuracy and details</li>\n <li>Organized and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team</li>\n <li>Possess characteristic traits of independent thinking and self-starting initiative</li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft office with advanced Excel skills</li>\n <li>Must be proactive with a keen sense of urgency</li>\n</ul>\n<p>A positive attitude is essential as we strive to maintain and protect our culture by hiring only those that enhance our current compliment of long-term employees and bring value to our team.</p>\n<h2>Workplace Type</h2>On-Site\n<h2><i>Our Equal Opportunity Commitment</i></h2>\n<p>Avison Young practices as an equal opportunity employer in all services locations around the world.
