With a strong safety culture and pioneering ethos, Catalyst Changers has a reputation of having the best catalyst craftsmen in Canada.</p>\n<p>The Inert Entry Rescue Specialist will perform critical vessel and tower supervision on the top deck while providing maintenance services to refineries and petrochemical facilities. Assignments are closely supervised and designed to further develop employee job knowledge and abilities. This position is considered seasonal due to the project based nature of the job.</p>\n<p>The position of the Inert Entry Rescue Specialist is responsible for day-to-day activities performed in client facilities; both inert and non-inert confined space entry atmosphere and to perform work toward its projects’ goal of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Service. The Inert Entry Rescue Specialist will conduct all Company business in accordance with Company policies and procedures and maintain professionalism throughout all business dealings, both internally and externally.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority</li>\n <li>Adhere to all applicable company, customer and legislative codes, regulations, practices, and procedures.</li>\n <li>Promote a positive safety culture through company values.</li>\n <li>Proper cleaning and maintenance of the Life Support Equipment. Immediately report any damage to Console Operator.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate the ability to properly test Life Support Equipment.</li>\n <li>Be familiar and competent in rigging and signalman procedures.</li>\n <li>Be familiar with Nitrogen Back Pressure Test</li>\n <li>Complete all required paperwork/documentation (inspection reports, timesheets, etc.) accurately and submit to appropriate personnel daily.</li>\n <li>Operate, understand and calibrate gas detection equipment used by Corporate.</li>\n <li>Perform and direct the rig up / rig down of all life support, vacuum, conveyer and loading equipment at the top deck.</li>\n <li>Meet requirements as the High Angle Rescue Team Leader.</li>\n <li>Will be responsible for the safety of all entry personnel during vessel entry.</li>\n <li>Maintain proper housekeeping on the vessel top deck in a safe and effective manner, and manage proper use of all equipment.</li>\n <li>Properly perform donning (put on), doffing (take off), lock down and inspection of the V.E.T.’s PPE and Lock on Life Support system or other respiratory equipment as required prior to and after entry.</li>\n <li>Maintain constant communication with all V.E.T.’s, Ground Foreman and Console Operator during entry, and supervise all vessel activities.</li>\n <li>Ensure proper permitting requirements are met. Establish and manage lock out / tag out, verification and the blind list instructions.</li>\n <li>Actively participate in health and safety meetings, safety communication, planning, and hazard assessments.</li>\n <li>Maintain a current Inert Entry Rescue Specialist certification and meet all aspects of the VET position requirements.</li>\n <li>Work as part of a team with Clients, Co-workers & Supervisors.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Catalyst Changers Inc is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from all qualified individuals. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous experience in the Inert Entry Rescue Specialist position</li>\n <li>Minimum class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract</li>\n <li>Exceptional customer service and communication skills</li>\n <li>Safety-focused attitude with experience working in an industrial setting</li>\n <li>Possesses cleanliness and organizational skills</li>\n <li>Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned</li>\n <li>Must have the ability to enter confined spaces and wear a respirator and breathing air helmet</li>\n <li>Must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs.</li>\n <li>Mechanical aptitude</li>\n <li>Willing and able to travel for extended periods and the ability to work 10-12-hour shifts (including nights, weekends and out of town)</li>\n <li>Ability to access Client sites which may require clearance of a drug and alcohol screen</li>\n</ul>",
