To learn more about our unique culture, visit our <a href=\"https://www.horiba.com/en_en/company/about-horiba/culture/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>culture page</strong></a><strong>.</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Our North American Semiconductor group is searching for an experienced R&amp;D Technician in Reno, NV.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Key Responsibilities include:&nbsp;</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Install and remove devices by accurately tightening and removing bolts, ensuring proper assembly and disassembly of equipment.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to ensure safe handling of chemicals and materials used in testing and maintenance procedures.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of testing equipment and instruments to ensure operational efficiency.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Weld pipes and fabricate parts as required for testing setups or equipment modification.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs. as part of equipment setup, maintenance, or modification processes.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Document test results, observations, and discrepancies accurately for further analysis and development.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Collaborate with engineering and development teams to provide insights and feedback on product performance and safety.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Adhere to all company safety protocols and standards to maintain a safe working environment.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Carry out necessary purchase order creation per HORIBA ordering process.</li></ul></div><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Conduct various analytical and/or micro contamination studies using leak detectors, Mass spectrometers, gas analyzers, particle counters, data acquisition setups/software etc., after being trained and qualified on any such equipment.</li></ul><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Skills and Knowledge:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0.75in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Proven mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment installation.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to read, understand, and follow Safety Data Sheets and safety protocols.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Basic welding skills with the ability to perform simple fabrications or repairs is a plus.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to handle power tools.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Excellent communication and documentation skills for reporting test results and maintaining records.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Physical capability to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform manual tasks.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Previous experience in a laboratory or R&amp;D environment is a plus.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Familiarity with gas flow products and testing procedures preferred.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Comfortable with electrical &amp; Flow schematics and mechanical drawings.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Previous experience with assembling and commissioning R&amp;D experimental equipment.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Preferred:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience in fabrication and/or procurement of medium to high-vacuum systems and chamber components.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Knowledge of high frequency (kHz to GHz) power supplies, low temperature plasma generation systems, matching networks.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Pumping system competency, rotary, scroll, roots, turbomolecular, cryogenic.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Versed in vacuum and gas system instrumentation, such as mass flow controllers, capacitance diaphragm gauges, residual gas analyzers.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">General competency and safety knowledge with positive pressure gas delivery systems used in semiconductors.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Compensation Package:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">HORIBA Instruments offers a competitive compensation package that includes a 401(k) plan with match;
