Part-Time/Faculty 12-Month Contact /Exempt
WORK SCHEDULE
Part-time position averaging 2–2.5 hours per week during select academic terms (three 12-week terms per year; March – December). Schedule coordinated with course needs.
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the PA Program Director and PA Director of Didactic Education, the primary responsibility of the course director is to provide instruction to students and assess students in achieving course learning outcomes for the PA Program didactic Pharmacology I-III courses.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
Promote the mission of SNU and the PA program to faculty, staff, students, and the community
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships
Ability to work independently
Operate office and educational technology, including standard office equipment, learning management systems, video conferencing platforms, and other digital tools relevant to academic functions
Ability to adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and ARC-PA Standards
Additional duties as assigned
Responsibilities:
Serve as a course director for 6 credit hours and provide instruction during didactic phase pharmacology courses
Evaluate student performance within assigned courses
Provide academic counseling for students within assigned courses
Assure the availability of remedial instruction within assigned courses
Design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the curriculum in collaboration with program faculty
Serve on the PA Program Student Progress Committee
Participate in the program’s self-assessment process as it relates to the Pharmacology courses
Attend the annual faculty retreat
Ensure curriculum development aligns with the program mission and goals
Assist the Director of Didactic Education with curriculum mapping for pharmacology courses
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize multiple demands in fast-paced work environment
A commitment to integrating faith in learning and intercultural learning and engagement
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of healthcare education experience in pharmacology
Supervision Received:
Receives supervision and work assignments from the program director, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.
