Overview Position Overview At Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), Quality & Cl Technician plays a vital role in ensuring product quality, driving continuous process improvements, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations. Performance in this role directly influences product excellence, customer satisfaction, and the company’s overall profitability. The QA/CL Technician ensures compliance with quality standards across all stages of the production process. Responsibilities and Qualifications Key Responsibilities Incoming Material Quality Control Ensure the Receiving Department inspects all incoming materials for required quality parameters upon arrival Confirm that quality records for incoming materials are accurately completed and maintained In-Process Product Quality (Production Stage) Ensure the Production Department performs hourly quality checks on all produced doors Confirm that hourly quality records are properly completed and maintained Finished Product Quality Ensure end-of-line quality checks are conducted on all finished doors according to established protocols prior to distribution Verify that all inspection results are accurately documented Quality Record Management Digitize and store all completed quality records in designated systems Maintain and organize physical records in the main office archive Data Collection & Reporting Track and document materials sent to the Material Review Board (MRB) or Quality Suspension Area, including final disposition Collect and report data to support quality metrics and continuous improvement efforts Process Analysis & Continuous Improvement Support evaluation and improvement of manufacturing processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency Participate in lean initiatives such as 5S and Kaizen events Assist in identifying opportunities for process and quality improvements Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions Participate in root cause investigations for quality issues Assist in implementing and tracking corrective and preventive actions Compliance & Audits Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements Support internal and external audit activities as needed Additional Responsibilities & Miscellaneous Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing and corporate objectives Photograph finished doors for specific orders prior to shipping, as required Support Quality and Continuous Improvement initiatives as directed by the Quality & CI Manager Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment Basic understanding of quality standards, inspection processes, and documentation practices Familiarity with quality tools and concepts (e.g., inspections, non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis) preferred Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies Ability to accurately maintain and organize both digital and physical records Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work independently with minimal supervision Physical ability to lift, push, or move up to 60 pounds Compensation and Benefits Reports To Quality & CI Manager Compensation The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position.
