    "description": "<p>A Youth Development Professional (YDP) focuses on delivering activities and mentorship to youth ages 6-18 that support their developmental growth toward a great future. YDPs plan and deliver programming to their age-based groups focusing on the Arts, Education, Character &amp; Leadership, Health &amp; Wellness, and Sports &amp; Recreation. YDPs steward a climate that is inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Attends mandatory Professional Development Days once a month.</li>\r\n\t<li>Assist in daily cleaning of program spaces.</li>\r\n\t<li>As Mandated Reports, all BGCSA staff will be responsible for reporting any suspected physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse of youth to the authorities and Child Protective Services.</li>\r\n\t<li>Responsible for youth safety and promptly document any medical and/or behavioral issues.</li>\r\n\t<li>Provides positive, informal guidance and mentorship while supervising a group of (20) elementary, middle, or high school students</li>\r\n\t<li>Guide students through fun, hands-on learning and social recreation activities, including art (music, theater, visual arts), STEM, games, sports, and more!</li>\r\n\t<li>Implements Boys &amp; Girls Club curricula based on existing or new programs to create a high-quality club experience.</li>\r\n\t<li>Effectively run programs, services, and other activities for members, community, and family engagement opportunities.</li>\r\n\t<li>Promotes and stimulates membership and participation in activities in the club.</li>\r\n\t<li>Responsible for classroom management and maintenance by ensuring safety and youth engagement.</li>\r\n\t<li>Efficiently utilizing social-emotional skills to identify and address behavioral issues and notify management of any escalating issues.</li>\r\n\t<li>Effectively implements and promotes techniques of conflict resolution &amp; de-escalation with youth.</li>\r\n\t<li>Engages and supports volunteers who assist with the implementation of program activities.</li>\r\n\t<li>Establish positive relationships with all stakeholders, including youth, parents, volunteers, schools, and community partners.</li>\r\n\t<li>Takes responsibility for assigned equipment and supplies.</li>\r\n\t<li>Assist in transporting youth after school and/or on field trips and ensuring all youth are supervised and accounted for.</li>\r\n\t<li>Report any needed repairs and/or maintenance requests promptly.</li>\r\n\t<li>Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n",
