This includes treatment plants, pump stations, storage, and conveyance systems. You’ll work on a variety of projects supporting electrical power distribution, instrumentation, and control systems—from concept through design and construction support. This is a hybrid position with monthly travel, tied to our San Diego or Arizona offices.</p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:</li>\n <li>Design low- to medium-voltage (120V–15kV) power distribution systems in compliance with NEC and other codes.</li>\n <li>Develop electrical drawings and documentation, including single-line diagrams, power & lighting plans, conduit block diagrams, panel schedules, and schematics.</li>\n <li>Design electrical systems, including utility service, power distribution, motor controls, standby power systems, lighting, and grounding.</li>\n <li>Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop, short circuit analysis, and equipment sizing.</li>\n <li>Design instrumentation and control systems including P&IDs, instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, and communication networks (fiber, copper, radio).</li>\n <li>Define and document hazardous areas per NFPA 820 and NEC 500.</li>\n <li>Edit technical specifications for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.</li>\n <li>Support construction with shop drawing reviews, RFIs, field inspections, and commissioning.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and follow CAD and design standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.</li>\n <li>5+ years of experience in electrical and I&C design for water/wastewater facilities.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with AutoCAD.</li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, NFPA 820, and relevant codes and standards.</li>\n <li>EIT certification.</li>\n <li>Experience designing low-voltage (120V–480V) power systems for water/wastewater facilities in compliance with NEC, with light supervision.</li>\n <li>Experience developing P&IDs, controls, and comm networks using reference designs and light oversight.</li>\n <li>Independently review electrical, instrumentation, and controls shop drawings and submittals.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to manage work across multiple projects and meet deadlines.</li>\n <li>Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by the first day of employment</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Actively pursuing PE license.</li>\n <li>Experience designing up to 15kV systems for water and wastewater facilities.</li>\n <li>Proficient in SCADA, motor controls, P&IDs, PLC, and telemetry system design.</li>\n <li>Experience with SKM software and performing power system studies.</li>\n <li>Construction observation and commissioning experience.</li>\n <li>Strong ability to independently create and edit E, I&C technical specifications.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation:</strong> $90,000-120,000 annually* </p>\n<p>*Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment. </p>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions </strong> Environment </p>\n<ul>\n <li>This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>This job requires occasional project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements </strong></p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
