University Settlement partners with 40,000+ New Yorkers in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn every year to build on our collective strengths as we achieve healthy, stable, and remarkable lives. For nearly 140 years, we’ve fought poverty and systemic inequality by building highly effective social services in collaboration with our neighbors. Established in 1886 as the first Settlement House in the United States, we bring the values of that movement into the 21st century by meeting New Yorkers where they live, listening deeply to all perspectives, and creating space for responsive cooperation.
Joining with our neighbors to make stable foundations where people of all ages can grow and pursue their dreams, we build community strength. We infuse a commitment to civic engagement, equality, and communal action into each of our programs, which include early childhood education, youth development, healthy aging, mental health and wellness, English classes for adult immigrants, community centers, and the arts.
Responsibilities:

Support program in conducting intensive and creative outreach and family engagement to communities, children/youth, and families in under-served areas
Develop individualized treatment plans and facilitate service delivery within the context of the child/youth/families self-identified needs, goals and ethnic, religious and cultural identities as well as identifying other needed service components
Coordinate and collaborate on treatment plans and program implementation with service providers and community partners
Become fully knowledgeable of the mental health resources and youth department strengths/needs in service areas
Maintain complete case management records, data collection, and documentation in the programs Electronic Health Record systems according to Medicaid and funding requirements
Support with facilitating workshops and presentations in the community
Provide case management, crisis intervention, prevention and resolution as needed to further goals
Become trained and well-versed in the programs Electronic Health Records, TREAT and Salesforce
Participate in team meetings, individual/group supervisions, and case conferences
Opportunity to provide clinical and task SIFI Supervision to MSW students and staff who provide home and community-based treatment to children and families through New York State Medicaid Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS)
Other duties as assigned by Clinical Supervisor and/or Program Director.
Qualifications:
LMSW or LCSW
At least 2 years of relevant experience working directly with diverse populations of children, families and/or adults
SIFI a plus
A mover and a shaker with a growth mindset; ability to multi-task a multi-faceted workload with positive energy, an innovative spirit and creative problem solving
Firm understanding of racial inequity, strength-based and family-driven work, child and youth development, attachment, trauma, and family dynamics
Demonstrated ability to work with and engage hard-to-reach populations as well as families, youth and young adults impacted by trauma, racial inequity, poverty, complex stressors, violence, mental health, etc.
Experience providing clinical community and home-based services from an antiracist and trauma-informed approach
Ability to navigate and support families and staff effectively through crises
Excellent verbal, written and technology skills are required
Strong organization and time management skills
Proven track record of effectively working autonomously and in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable with telehealth as well as traveling to and working in families homes, communities, and schools in Manhattan and Brooklyn; experience providing home-based services a plus
Bilingual skills in English/Spanish, English/Cantonese or English/Mandarin a plus
