This position offers a rare blend of high‑quality clinical practice, advanced corneal surgery, and hands‑on resident and fellow education. Candidates will have the opportunity to manage complex corneal disease, perform cutting‑edge procedures, and contribute to training the next generation of ophthalmologists within a collaborative, well‑supported environment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Quick Facts</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Full-time (preferred); part-time, and per diem schedules may be considered</li>\n <li><strong>Schedule/Hours: </strong>8 am-5 pm</li>\n <li><strong>Call:</strong> Shared</li>\n <li><strong>Patient Volume:</strong> 30-40 patients daily (excluding surgery and admin time)</li>\n <li><strong>Location: </strong>Washington, DC</li>\n <li><strong>Practice Setting:</strong> George Washington Hospital and GW Medical Faculty Associates</li>\n <li><strong>Support Team: </strong>Administrative Assistant, Ophthalmic Technician</li>\n <li><strong>EMR: </strong>Epic</li>\n <li><strong>Academic Teaching Opportunity: </strong>Educate and mentor residents and students</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide cornea procedures like DMEK, DSAEK, PK, refractive surgery (LASIK/PRK), collagen cross-linking, and cataract surgeries to a diverse patient population</li>\n <li>Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and support staff with administrative assistance and a technician</li>\n <li>Document care using Epic</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation & Benefits  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Salary: </strong>Competitive compensation in the $300K-$400K range</li>\n <li>Sign-On Bonus</li>\n <li>Health, Dental, Vision, & Retirement </li>\n <li>Malpractice coverage, CME, relocation reimbursement, and more incentives</li>\n <li><em>Position qualifies under PSLF  </em></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Board Certified in Ophthalmology</li>\n <li>Fellowship trained in Cornea</li>\n <li><strong>Required: 5+ years of experience (following completion of training)</strong></li>\n <li>Experience in academic settings preferred</li>\n <li>Eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia</li>\n <li><em>This position is eligible for H1-B Visa sponsorship  </em></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Living in Washington, DC</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Washington, DC offers an unmatched blend of cultural energy, academic vibrancy, and professional opportunity.
