Description

Position Summary Under the supervision of the Aquatics Supervisor and/or Aquatics Coordinator, this position provides swim instruction to adults and children and conducts related work as required. Swim Instructors teach, supervise, and assess students of all ages and abilities. Essential Functions Teach group and private swim lessons to adults and children of all abilities Use proper teaching tools, equipment and techniques while teaching swim lessons. Maintain order and prevent accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, regulations and ordinances governing the conduct of patrons in the pool area. Anticipate hazardous situations and take steps to prevent them. Assist in the set up and clean up for swim classes. Maintain a clean and debris free pool, pool area and bathrooms. Maintain swim instructor dress code. Maintain positive, professional and tactful public relations. Attend staff meetings and training. Maintain attendance records and logs. Exercise patience with difficult people and situations. Administer first aid and respond to emergent situations. Assess students and provide timely objective feedback to students and or parents.
