This role involves cooking meals in a timely and sanitary manner and delivering them safely and respectfully along designated routes.</p>\n<p>In the kitchen, the Cook/Driver follows standardized recipes to ensure meals meet nutritional standards. Responsibilities include maintaining kitchen cleanliness, adhering to food safety protocols, and assisting with food storage and inventory.</p>\n<p>As a driver, the Cook/Driver transports meals, conducts wellness checks on clients, and ensures safe delivery. Maintaining vehicle safety and following driving regulations is also required.</p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, follow directions well, maintain a professional appearance, and be dedicated to serving elders. Adherence to hygiene, dress code, and safety protocols is essential, as this position supports both the nutritional and social well-being of the community’s senior population.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SUPERVISION RECEIVED: </span>The Cook/Driver works directly under the supervision of the Lead Cook.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepares, cooks, and serves meals in accordance with standardized recipes and menus.</li>\n<li>Ensures food is prepared in a sanitary and timely manner to meet scheduled meal times.</li>\n<li>Follows proper food handling procedures, including storage, labeling, and temperature control.</li>\n<li>Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas according to safety and sanitation standards.</li>\n<li>Assists with receiving and storing food and supply deliveries.</li>\n<li>Maintains daily food temperature logs and production records as required.</li>\n<li>Prepares meals for both congregate dining and home-delivered meal clients.</li>\n<li>Ensures all meals are visually appealing and meet nutritional standards.</li>\n<li>Works cooperatively with kitchen team to ensure efficiency and quality control.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Delivers meals to home-bound elders using a program vehicle on assigned routes.</li>\n<li>Loads, transports, and unloads meals, ensuring temperature and food safety during delivery.</li>\n<li>Conducts wellness checks on meal recipients and reports concerns to appropriate staff.</li>\n<li>Maintains accurate delivery records and logs mileage as required.</li>\n<li>Ensures vehicle is clean, fueled, and maintained in safe operating condition.</li>\n<li>Follows traffic laws and demonstrates safe driving practices at all times.</li>\n<li>Assists seniors as needed when delivering meals, including minor mobility support.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides courteous and respectful service to all elders and staff.</li>\n<li>Adheres to dress code and hygiene standards, including good personal hygiene, proper hair covering, closed-toe and rubber-soled shoes, short or clean fingernails, limited jewelry, and no shorts or cut-off clothing.</li>\n<li>Demonstrates the ability to take direction and respond positively to supervision and feedback.</li>\n<li>Assists with special events or senior center activities as needed.</li>\n<li>Participates in required training related to food safety, elder care, and vehicle operation.</li>\n<li>Reports equipment or safety issues promptly to the supervisor.</li>\n<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or GED preferred.</li>\n<li>Minimum of 1 year of experience in food preparation or institutional cooking.</li>\n<li>Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.</li>\n<li>Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card (or ability to obtain upon hire).</li>\n<li>Must pass background check, drug screening, and any other pre-employment requirements.</li>\n<li>Submit to and Pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).</li>\n<li>CPR/First Aid Certification.</li>\n<li>Experience working with elders or in a senior nutrition program.</li>\n<li>Familiarity with tribal communities or senior services preferred.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of safe food handling and kitchen sanitation practices.</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills, especially in working with elderly individuals.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</span></p>\n<p>May require frequent standing, walking, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Lifts heavy pans, trays, and pushes food carts.
