Collectively, Hanger employees touch thousands of lives each day, helping people achieve new levels of mobility and freedom.</p>\n<h2>Could This Be For You?</h2>\n<p>We are seeking an <strong>Intake Specialist (Outbound) - Remote. </strong>The ideal candidate provides excellent customer service and will talk directly with patients and their families, determining their needs, their medical history, physical and mental state and special requirements.</p>\n<h2>Your Impact</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Makes outgoing calls patients and scheduling various appointment types for multiple locations</li>\n <li>Communicates professionally with patients</li>\n <li>Appropriately documents and confirm requested appointment</li>\n <li>Provides excellent customer service</li>\n <li>Determines the most appropriate location, clinician, and appointment type needed for the patient</li>\n <li>Manages incoming faxes from referral sources</li>\n <li>Triages and route general inquiry calls</li>\n <li>Contacts patient for no show/rescheduled appointments</li>\n <li>Promotes the values of Hanger</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Minimum Qualifications</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school education or equivalent</li>\n <li>Minimum of 2 years related experience: customer service, call center, working with medical records/insurance</li>\n <li>Be at minimum a good fit for the job, as determined by the Talent Sorter assessment preferred. Hanger will administer the Talent Sorter as part of the selection process</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bilingual (Spanish)</li>\n <li>Orthotic and Prosthetic experience</li>\n <li>Experience with EMR systems (NextGen)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Success Factors</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to follow written and verbal directions</p></li>\n <li><p>Resourceful and flexible team player who excels at building trusting relationships with patients, referral sources and colleagues</p></li>\n <li><p>Working knowledge of HIPAA and other medical insurance regulations and terminology for private payer, state and federal plans including coding, billing and reimbursement protocols</p></li>\n <li><p>Proficient computer skills including Windows based office technologies (ex. Word, Excel), Outlook and automated billing systems</p></li>\n <li><p>Working knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, HCPC/CPT and other coding</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to use office equipment; such as, facsimile machine, calculator, and postage machine</p></li>\n <li><p>General knowledge of state, federal and regional collection and reimbursement laws</p></li>\n <li><p>Excellent organizational skills and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment</p></li>\n <li><p>Must have an enthusiastic and positive attitude</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, and be attentive to detail</p></li>\n <li>Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships.</li>\n <li>Keep the patient at the center of everything that you do, building lifelong trust.</li>\n <li>Foster open collaboration and constructive dialogue with everyone around you.</li>\n <li>Continuously innovate new solutions, influencing and responding to change.</li>\n <li>Focus on superior outcomes, and calibrate work processes for outstanding results.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#LI-Remote</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Pay range of $17.75 to $23.00 per hour + annual bonus: up to 5% of base pay depending on bonus criteria.  This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws.
