Victory Church Job Description Job Title:   Early Childhood Coordinator Department:   Children’s Ministry Reports To:   Associate Campus Pastor FLSA Status:   Non-Exempt Prepared By:   Kendall Whittington Summary:   Leads and directs the Early Childhood Ministries, planning and executing all functions essential to create and sustain safe and viable ministries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Passionate about early childhood children and helping them learn about Jesus. Develops Victory Church culture of Early Childhood Ministry. Recruits and develops Early Childhood volunteer leaders and teams. Empowers volunteer leaders. Ensures all Early Childhood classrooms are appropriately staffed for all gatherings, special events, and as requested. Check in with Early Childhood classrooms prior to worship gatherings and assist/teach classroom lessons as needed. Builds and maintains meaningful relationships with parents, families, and children, offering consistent care, communication, and support that extends beyond weekly gatherings. Greets parents and children as they enter the VKids building. Implements and champions Victory Church’s Next Gen strategy within Early Childhood, ensuring existing curriculum and resources are executed with consistency, clarity, and excellence across volunteers. Attends leadership meetings as directed. Maintains departmental budgets. Plans activities as needed for ministry areas. Maintains correct information in Church databases (i.e., Planning Center). Supervisory functions: Any paid childcare teams will report directly to the Early Childhood Coordinator. Education and/or Experience:   Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience; and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Motivation – We set challenging goals, looking for persistence and the ability to overcome obstacles. We measure ourselves against a standard of excellence. Interpersonal Skills – Our staff are able to keep emotions under control, effectively solving conflict. They are active listeners and are open to others’ ideas. We strongly believe in maintaining confidentiality. Problem Solving – It’s necessary for our team to work well in group problem-solving situations, using reason, even when dealing with emotional issues. Remain Open-Handed. We champion the vision of this church because our ministries are not ours. Innovation – Our staff are team players, developing innovative ideas and suggestions for improving work. They display original thinking and creativity, with a view toward the mission and vision of Victory. Teamwork – Our staff puts the success of the team above their own interests, supporting everyone’s efforts to succeed. They exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views, giving and welcoming feedback. Own It. We believe that hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. Attendance/Punctuality – Our staff believes in being on time for meetings and appointments. They ensure that work responsibilities are covered when absent and help cover teammate’s absences.
