You will shape the future of scheduling by establishing best practices, developing talent, and enabling teams to deliver projects more efficiently across a diverse portfolio of construction work.&#xa0;</p><p>This role, preferably&#xa0;<strong>based out of our Calgary, AB office</strong>, is accountable for setting standards, building scalable systems, developing talent, and enabling project teams to plan and execute work in the most efficient and effective way. Rather than owning day-to-day project delivery, the Director ensures that planning and scheduling practices are consistent, actionable, and fully integrated across preconstruction and operations.<br>\n&#xa0;</p><p><strong>Centre of Excellence Leadership</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the Planning and Scheduling function within the Centre of Excellence</li><li>Establish enterprise standards, methodologies, and best practices for construction scheduling</li><li>Act as the subject matter authority for planning and scheduling across all business units</li><li>Enable consistent, repeatable scheduling approaches while allowing flexibility for project-specific execution</li></ul><p><strong>Standards, Governance &amp; Methodology</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and maintain corporate scheduling standards, templates, and procedures</li><li>Define expectations for baseline schedules, updates, progress measurement, and look-ahead planning</li><li>Establish governance models for schedule review, change management, and escalation</li><li>Ensure planning practices align with contract requirements, risk management frameworks, and company policies</li></ul><p><strong>Preconstruction Enablement</strong></p><ul><li>Support preconstruction and pursuit teams with schedule strategy, feasibility reviews, and risk analysis</li><li>Ensure constructability, phasing, and trade sequencing are embedded in preconstruction schedules</li><li>Standardize how schedules support bid strategy, logistics planning, and project handoff to operations</li><li>Capture lessons learned to continuously improve preconstruction planning accuracy</li></ul><p><strong>Operations Enablement &amp; Field Integration</strong></p><ul><li>Partner with Operations leadership to ensure schedules support field execution and Superintendent work plans</li><li>Promote use of look-ahead planning, pull planning, and collaborative trade coordination</li><li>Provide expert support for schedule recovery strategies and complex phasing challenges</li><li>Ensure schedules are living tools used by project teams, not compliance documents</li></ul><p><strong>Reporting requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Provide executive-level visibility into schedule health, risks, and trends at the corporate level</li><li>Define and track key scheduling KPIs and maturity metrics</li><li>Develop dashboards and reporting standards that support data-driven decision-making</li><li>Identify systemic issues and drive enterprise-level improvements</li></ul><p><strong>Change, Risk &amp; Claims Support</strong></p><ul><li>Act as escalation support for complex schedule impacts, time extensions, and delay analysis</li><li>Provide guidance on Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and schedule narratives</li><li>Support claims avoidance strategies through strong schedule governance and documentation</li><li>Partner with Legal and Commercial teams on schedule-related disputes as needed</li></ul><p><strong>Talent Development &amp; Capability Building</strong></p><ul><li>Develop, and mentor district level schedulers, and scheduling managers</li><li>Define role clarity, competency expectations, and career paths within the planning discipline</li><li>Provide training to project managers and superintendents on effective schedule use</li><li>Build a sustainable and scalable planning capability across the company</li></ul><p><strong>Systems, Tools &amp; Continuous Improvement</strong></p><ul><li>Own the strategic roadmap for scheduling tools and systems (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI)</li><li>Standardize coding structures, reporting outputs, and data integration</li><li>Improve alignment between schedule data, cost control, and progress tracking</li><li>Drive innovation and continuous improvement in planning technologies and workflows</li></ul>",
