Description

Description We are looking for a talented Production Associate - Level IV- 2nd shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC . In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Driving safe operations — Operating with a proactive safety mindset by identifying hazards, stopping work when necessary, and modeling behaviors that strengthen an interdependent, injury‑free workplace. Elevating product quality — Applying SPC, poka‑yoke, visual standards, and thorough inspections to prevent defects, control non‑conforming material, and reduce cost and quality risks. Delivering reliable production — Running equipment independently at required cycle times, meeting production goals, and consistently producing parts that meet exact specifications. Leading and supporting others — Acting as a formal resource for teammates, coordinating work, sharing expertise, and strengthening overall team capability. Maintaining equipment readiness — Performing routine cleaning, operator care, and maintenance tasks while partnering with skilled trades to identify issues early and keep machines running efficiently. Adapting to change — Responding quickly to shifting priorities, handling uncertainty with confidence, and solving problems that lack clear or immediate solutions. Improving processes — Identifying opportunities to enhance safety, quality, material flow, and efficiency, and taking initiative to support continuous improvement. Strengthening team communication — Communicating clearly with peers and support teams, completing required training, and contributing to a collaborative, high‑performance environment. Responsibilities To be successful in this role you will need the following: Collaborative partnerships — Posses the ability to build trust, share information openly, and work seamlessly with operators, support teams, and leadership to achieve shared production, safety, and quality goals. Effective communication —Tailor your communication style to different audiences—whether you’re giving clear instructions to peers, escalating issues to supervisors, or documenting quality and safety information. Strong accountability — Success requires consistently meeting commitments, owning your work, and holding others to the same standards so the team can deliver reliably and safely. Comfort with ambiguity — Stay productive and make sound decisions even when processes shift, priorities change, or the path forward isn’t fully defined. Health & safety leadership — Champion safe behaviors, identify and report hazards, model proper PPE use, and actively participate in building an interdependent, injury‑free workplace. Manufacturing process knowledge — You need a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality systems so you can implement changes correctly and contribute to continuous improvement. Continuous improvement mindset — Success depends on spotting inefficiencies, raising issues early, and helping refine processes to improve safety, quality, and throughput. Adaptability and resilience — Remain flexible, adjust quickly to new conditions, and maintain performance even when facing unexpected challenges or shifting production demands. Education/Experience: High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience. Qualifications Additional Information: Lead and coordinate daily material flow operations across assigned areas (Assembly Teams, Central Sub, Kitting, Receiving), ensuring parts are delivered accurately and on time to support production schedules. Monitor and manage inventory flow using systems such as Oracle, SIR reports, and AEL boards to proactively identify shortages, escalate risks, and prevent line impacts (EOOP). Serve as the first point of contact for line stockers and material handlers, providing direction, coaching, and real-time problem solving to maintain safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Experience with systems such as Oracle, Power BI, or similar manufacturing/logistics tools preferred. Prior experience in a lead or coordinator role within a high-volume manufacturing environment a plus. Compensation: Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
