    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>If you are looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Brantford, ON location, as an integral part of the Operations team the Machinist will support our operation in a cross-functional setting. This position requires a safety mentality, a can-do attitude, and the ability to work in a team setting.</p><p><strong>IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Work with cylinder shop lead hand, manufacturing engineer and supervisor to safely solve machining tasks as they are presented.</li><li>Operate a 5 station turret lathe and custom thread rolling machine to manufacture tie rods. Also be able to set up thread rolling heads, to ensure quality parts that meet print and gauge specifications.&nbsp;</li><li>Operate automatic tapping head to thread profile tubing.</li><li>Operate Hass Mill to machine cylinder head and cap ports as well as cushions and other custom operations as required.</li><li>Operate manual vertical mills to machine ports, cushions, and wrench flats as well as manual machining where required.</li><li>Operate HAAS ST10 and ST20Y lathe to machine piston rods and tie rods as well as other material as required.</li><li>Operate Aluminum Chop saw with digital read out to cut aluminum tube extrusions.</li><li>Operate metal band saw/s to cut various sizes of ferrous and nonferrous metal rods.</li><li>Operate manual lathes and mills, to machine custom parts and detailed operations as required to print.</li><li>Operate manual machining and CNC programming required, as well as 5 axis milling operations.</li><li>Program manually without the use of any CAM software.</li><li>Operate Rod Breaker.</li><li>Program and operate Automated Hydmech Cold saw.</li><li>Precision tube facing and ability to measure parts using calibrated gauges that are both analog and digital.</li><li>General maintenance related concerns and notification when required e.g.coolant, Fluid levels, tooling supplies, etc.</li><li>Fast paced semi repetitive work with the expectation to contribute to a plan to move more manufacturing in house and have the ability to perform task in alternative ways in the event of a breakdown.</li><li>Buffing, grinding Deburring etc. as required.&nbsp;</li><li>Material handling and raw material storage organization required.</li><li>Some heavy lifting required at times.</li><li>Other related duties as required - Work performed can be physical and demanding at times.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>WHO YOU ARE:</strong> You focus on creating an effective collaborative style. You are open to change and continue to learn and experience new opportunities.</p><div><br><strong>&nbsp;FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:&nbsp;</strong></div><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"line-height: normal;\">Be a certified machinist who holds a General Machinist Certification and Computer Numerical Control Certification (CNC).&nbsp;</li><li style=\"line-height: normal;\"><strong>Must have a Red Seal and Journeyman ticket/Certificate of Qualification (COQ)</strong></li><li style=\"line-height: normal;\"><strong>Able to program on CNC</strong></li><li style=\"line-height: normal;\">Able to change blades, tooling inserts and tooling setup with program adjustments.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"line-height: normal;\">Able to read and interpret both metric and imperial prints and be able to pull up saved machine programs and implement, manipulate, and copy to suit new designs.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"line-height: normal;\">Keep workplace clean and equipment presentable during and, at the end of each shift.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"line-height: normal;\">Able to identify areas for improvement and have a positive attitude to solving issues and concerns as they arise.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"line-height: normal;\">Be able to get along with other workers, be flexible</li><li style=\"line-height: normal;\">Good listening and communication skills both verbal and written, read and follow procedures,&nbsp;</li><li style=\"line-height: normal;\">Able to always adhere to safety procedures and machine guards/ing</li><li style=\"line-height: normal;\">Have a strong understanding and practice of company health and safety policies and procedures.</li><li style=\"line-height: normal;\">Ability to work in Canada without need for sponsorship now or in the future</li></ul><div><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Our Culture &amp; Commitment to You</strong></p><p>Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process.&nbsp; The hourly pay for this role is $29.36 – $37.54 commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role. &nbsp;</p><p>We recognize that for our organization to support a diverse workforce, we must focus on employee wellbeing.
