*This is a Part Time position serving our patients in Lee, Glades, and Hendry counties.
Job Summary:
Manipulates soft tissue structures of the body for the purpose of affecting the circulatory, lymphatic, muscular, skeletal and nervous systems to promote physical and emotional well-being, using varying degrees of pressure and movement.
Job Responsibilities:
Applies the scientific principles and techniques of massage to assist patients experiencing pain, discomfort or distress while coping with end of life symptoms.
Creates goals/interventions within the plan of care established in collaboration with the interdisciplinary teams.
Studies and analyzes patients responses to massage and prepares reports describing symptoms indicative of progress or regression.
Works with various agents to complement massage, including application of heat, aromatherapy, oils, lotions and range of motion.
Completes visit assessments containing clinical data in HomeCare HomeBase at point of care and syncs back visits after completion.
Attends interdisciplinary team meetings (IDG) as directed by manager. Participates in the IDG process outside of scheduled meetings by collaborating via email with other team members.
Provides ongoing education to clinical staff regarding indications for massage therapy and potential benefits.
Completes bi-weekly time sheets and monthly productivity reports/board updates.
Participates in departmental projects and programs as directed by manager.
Utilizes Microsoft Word and Excel programs for creating and managing documents, and maintains email communication via Outlook.
Provides regular massage therapy visits to patients in caseload, creating and implementing appropriate massage interventions for these visits.
Clock-in occurs at the first visit of the day. Otherwise, arrive to the office at 8:30 for clock-in using the time clock in the Lyons Building staff lounge or Georgeson Hospice House. Last clock-out of the day occurs at last visit following completion of documentation and synch of device.
Meets productivity expectations as set by the organization.
Collaborate and train HHA on hand massage
Coordinate trainings and education on Aroma Therapy. Maintain Aroma Therapy supplies
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred. One to two years healthcare experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Florida Massage Therapy License.
Current Florida Driver's License.
Reiki Master or certification in energy modality or manual lymph drainage preferred, and pursuit of one of these certifications required within one year of hire
Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire and maintain without expiration during employment.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret tables and bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Other Skills and Abilities: Must have the ability to obtain and interpret data, perform assessments and identify physical, psychological or medical limitations of the populations served in collaboration with patient, family, and other members of interdisciplinary teams. Therapist must demonstrate the ability to develop an initial and on-going treatment plan. Must be able to develop and present educational opportunities to staff, volunteers, and community. Must be self-motivated and responsible in performance of duties. Prefer previous hospice, geriatric or health care related experience. Maintain a flexible schedule to adhere to the needs of the populations served, including occasional nights and weekends.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to provide therapy. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position does include day and nighttime driving.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions. Must be able to endure exposure to common household allergens (i.e. pets, plants, dust, etc.).
