    "description_html": "<div class=\"job_description\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Due to the popularity of this afterschool program specifically designed for military kids, we are hiring at our Marine Base Kaneohe branch for an Operation Hero Facilitator. Make a difference in the lives of our military kids as we strive as an organization to help strengthen our military families.</p><p>This coming school year, Operation Hero will be held at our ASYMCA branch.</p><p>This position reports to: Branch Director</p><p>Status: Seasonal/Part-Time - 12 weeks/4 hours a week (2xs per school year)</p><p>Basic Job Description: Responsible for the implementation and facilitation of the Operation Hero program for a group of eight elementary school age children. Candidates must commit to completing the ten-week program.</p><p>Primary Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Take responsibility for undertaking the self-paced Operation Hero tutorial program to understand its purpose and delivery</li><li>Read the weekly lessons contained in the Armed Services YMCA Operation Hero Facilitator Guide and develop detailed lesson plans to be submitted a minimum of one week prior to program week</li><li>Work with the Branch Director to acquire suitable resources for the program&#8217;s duration including a low cost snack following YMCA guidelines</li><li>Read student registration packets prior to the start of the first week to understand the basis for referral and family situation</li><li>Create a workable spreadsheet including important information and emergency contact details</li><li>Prepare journals, folders, place cards and other classroom tools prior to the start of the program</li><li>Maintain an organized, safe, and clean program space</li><li>Complete all required documentation, to include but not limited to: attendance reports, weekly reports, supply requests, accident/incident reports, and behavior log reports</li><li>Respond to all suggestions/complaints in writing within 48 hours of receipt after consultation with the Branch Director</li><li>Attend weekly meetings based on the submission of the weekly report to identify effectiveness of the classes in an effort towards continual improvement</li><li>Incorporate the YMCA core values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty into lesson plans as well as in your position as you represent the Armed Services YMCA</li><li>Other duties as assigned by the Branch Director to ensure excellence in delivery of the program</li></ul><p>Required Qualifications:</p><ul><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li><li>Must have experience working with children in a group setting</li></ul><p>Job Type: Part-time</p><p>Salary: $18 per hour</p><p>Schedule:</p><ul><li>Mondays 2:15-4:15 PM</li><li>Wednesdays 1:15 - 3:15</li></ul><p>Education:</p><ul><li>High school or equivalent (Preferred)</li></ul><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>Experience with Children: 2 years (Required)</li></ul><p></p><p>Work Location: Marine Base Kaneohe</p><p></p><p>Military spouses, veterans and military affiliated job seekers encouraged to apply.</p>\n\n<p>Armed Services YMCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
