We currently have an opening for a full-time, Multi-site Counselor position, serving our three mental health facilities located throughout Santa Cruz County.</span><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><strong>About Us: &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">At Encompass Community Services we provide our community with a wide range of services related to family &amp; social well-being, early childhood education, behavioral health, housing and more.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Telos, El Dorado Center and Casa Pacific are short-term residential treatment programs for individuals struggling with mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse issues.The primary goal of these programs is to assist individuals with increasing wellness and transitioning from residential care to more independent settings within the community. Our Counselors play an important role in assisting the residents we serve on their journey towards wellness and stability through treatment that is trauma-informed and person-centered. &nbsp;</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><strong>Job Summary: &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><strong>This position will work swing (2:00pm-10:00pm) and overnight shift (10:00pm- 8:00am), Monday through Sunday.&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">The <em>Multi-Site Residential Counselor</em> is a full-time position with benefits and is scheduled to work Swing and NOC Shifts (including weekends) as needed for coverage at our three mental health residential sites. Counseling duties include ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, assisting with treatment needs, and supporting program operations. We are looking for individuals who have some experience or education working with individuals who struggle with mental illness and substance use disorders, and people with a passion to serve this population. We are looking for counselors with the skill and ability to work with clients who have multiple complex health needs and who are able to manage multiple tasks related to residential services. On-site and agency trainings are provided for all staff members. &nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><strong>DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES: &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></span></p><ul><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Availability to cover needed Swing, NOC, and weekend shifts &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Manage client behavioral and/or medical issues, safety issues, or other natural emergencies while on duty, with support of an On-Call Manager. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">May provide therapeutic crisis management. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">May provide therapeutic intervention services based on best practices &amp; selected evidence based practices for mental health or substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Services may include administrative functions in support of clients, including evaluations, assessments, counseling, and/or assisting in the implementation of appropriate treatment plan interventions and/or the facilitation of individual, group, family, and crisis counseling. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Assisting with medication, incident reporting, shift change reporting, and household duties as required. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Must communicate effectively and be able to use current technology in the following areas: e-mail, case notes, incident reports, correspondence with community service providers. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">QUALIFICATIONS: &nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p><ul><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Bilingual English/Spanish desired but not necessary</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Ability to work independently, manage time well</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Valid driver&rsquo;s license and clean DMV required</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Electronic Health Record (EHR) Competency&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Computer literacy</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">Good oral and written communication skills</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">Position requires flu vaccination upon hire.</span>&nbsp;</li></ul><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><strong>Wages &amp; Benefits:</strong><br>Our total compensation package includes a comprehensive medical and dental insurance plan for full time employees, 403(b) retirement plan, paid holiday, sick time, and 17 days of paid vacation, pro-rated for positions less than 40 hours a week.
