Description POSITION SUMMARY : Responsible for the coordination and implementation of UCC-academic community-engaged research partnerships and other community health and wellness initiatives.  Provide support to the Program Director in the development of collaborations with academic research partners, UCC staff, the community, and other organizations. Provide consultation and/or direct technical support in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and project reporting of new and ongoing research studies and health programs in the Latino community.  Ensure the quality of collaboratively established data collection activities; assist with data analysis and/or interpretation of project findings/results and dissemination; Co-write grant proposals and co-author research findings or project reports involving UCC projects or programs as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In collaboration with external researchers, health service agencies, or community project partners, are responsible for the daily coordination of activities and deliverables related to health research projects or community health activities involving identified health disparities or initiatives in the community. Assist with preparing grant applications in collaboration with the Program Director, other UCC staff, and external academic research partners, providing input and assistance on program/study design. Organize and conduct focus groups, surveys and interviews for programs to identify health needs of participants and secure feedback from participants intended to inform project proposals and UCC programming. Collaboration with external partners, UCC staff, and community partners in planning and implementing health and/or research programs at UCC or the community. Develop and update work plans and protocols for specific projects. Coordinate and assist with recruitment and enrollment activities of participants in research studies or community health projects Design methods to collect and track participant records and outcomes data for the purposes of research or assessments of outcomes. Assist and support data analysis (quantitative and qualitative) and reports for program/agency management, academic project partners, and funding sources. Contribute to written reports, preparation, and review of research-related progress reports and manuscripts to be shared with researchers, funding sources, and internal/ and external stakeholders. Develop, implement, and maintain databases and files related to the Community Health & Research Department. Participate in the dissemination of research findings to various audiences (community, academic, health care, foundations, scientific audience, media, and UCC administration). Develop or utilize expertise in statistical and other software packages (SPSS, Access, and Excel) to manage UCC health data. Provide technical expertise and support to Program Director (and/or other UCC managers) Facilitate health classes for UCC participants and train leaders/volunteers/staff to facilitate classes as assigned. Assist in the development of program resources through literature searches and collaboration with external sources. Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with health professionals and other health or research professionals from universities, health organizations and agencies, and community organizations. Organize internal and external meetings, site visits, and special events related to health projects. Mentor assigned health sciences students via university-sponsored service-learning programming (undergraduate or graduate level), internships, and volunteer. Develop, facilitate, and offer educational sessions about Latino culture related to health concerns for various audiences, as assigned. Collaborate on the development of health-related program communications materials, including educational, marketing materials, website management, and other formats. Participate in appropriate committees or groups (internal and external) relevant to the advancement of the UCC programs and health needs of the Latino community, as assigned. Attend relevant professional conferences, seminars, webinars, etc., to advance own skills and the interests of the agency and the health research department. Other related duties as assigned. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES Performs any and all other duties as assigned relating to promoting the mission and work of the organization Qualifications Master’s degree in the Health Science field (Public Health, Nursing, Healthcare, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, etc.), with experience in community health research methods, including design, implementation, data collection, and interpretation. (May consider a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience and training in health and/or research background). Knowledge of and experience using qualitative and quantitative research methodologies required. Strong project management skills are necessary. Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills required.  Ability to work effectively in collaborative efforts with other staff, research partners, community partners, and stakeholders. Ability to organize and multitask, detail oriented. Knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, and statistical computer programs. Ability to work effectively within a multi-cultural environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills (English and Spanish). Excellent presentation and public speaking skills. Working Conditions: Work is generally performed in an office environment. Noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud (examples: business office with computers and printers, light to moderate traffic, human voices). Standard office equipment generally used includes Telephone, Personal Computer (monitor, keyboard, and mouse) or Tablet, Printer/Photocopy Machine, Calculator, Fax Machine. Position involves attending external meetings, requiring travel out of the office, occasional overnights. Physical requirements: Ability to sit most of the time, with some bending and reaching. Ability to stand, walk, and bend most of the time. Ability to engage in repetitive movement of wrists, hands, and fingers – typing and/or writing. Ability to work frequently at close visual range (i.e., preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading). Ability to receive and respond to oral communication. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
