Kitchen Manager
Milwaukee, WI
Goals/Objectives of Position: Regulate food preparation and reduce operating expenses to meet company’s objectives: zero defects, zero shortages, and timely deliveries. Train and develop team members.
Essential Duties:
Oversee daily kitchen operations, including opening procedures, production flow, and expediting
Perform hands-on food preparation to support quality and efficiency
Ensure food is properly portioned, presented, and meets quality standards
Monitor inventory, coordinate purchasing, and manage waste reduction efforts
Enforce proper food safety, storage, sanitation, and OSHA compliance
Supervise, train, and coach staff, addressing performance as needed
Support budgeting, staffing plans, and lead daily/weekly team meetings
Education/Experience Required: Associate or bachelor’s degree in administration or culinary arts (or related field) or equivalent experience; minimum of five years supervisory experience in an institutional food service setting. Must have or acquire Serve Safe certification.
Knowledge Required: Culinary, know how to read, extend and implement recipes Hands-on working knowledge of products/services as it relates to the food service industry. Understanding of department budgeting Ability to extend and reduce recipes Required core competencies: creativity, curiosity, critical thinking, conscientious, collaboration, and agility.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift a 30-pound load, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds; pushing and pulling up to 100 pounds. Other: Permitted to work at schools and other Fresh & Safe jobsites. We Make it Easy
