    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Legato, LLC</span> recruiters ([email protected]) would love to speak with you regarding the following position: <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Database Engineer </span>in Hanover, MD.<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Security Clearance Required</span>: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Salary Range</span>: $175,000-$205,000, depending on experience.<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You Will Do:</span></p>\n<p>The Database Engineer will provide both engineering and administration support. There will be a focus on data optimization, dealing with large data sets, and seeking Oracle efficiencies. There will be an opportunity to optimize an Oracle system to operate at peak performance and efficiency. The ideal candidate will shape how massive and usual data types are processed, stored, and leveraged.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>They will provide technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis. Develops relational and/or Object-Oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software. Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design. Responsible for developing a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls. The DBE works primarily at the front end of the lifecycle requirements through system acceptance testing and Initial Operational Capability (IOC). Develops requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular business and Information Technology (IT) subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems). Assist with recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of systems improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts. Translates a set of requirements and data into a usable document by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros; updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file; and builds complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity and database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies.</p>\n<p><br>Our minimum requirements for this role:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with Oracle or PostgresSQL</li>\n<li>Experience in both database engineering and database administration</li>\n<li>Experience with data optimization, large data sets and organization of data.</li>\n<li>IAT Level 2 Certification required at start date</li>\n<li>At least five (5) years experience as a Database Engineer</li>\n<li>A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required.
