    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>LMI is seeking a Senior Back-End Software Developer to support the development and enhancement of LMI’s Modeling, Simulation, Prototyping, Wargaming, & Analysis platform, RAPTR®. In this role, you will focus on implementing backend features and services that enable analysts, data scientists, and engineers to conduct complex analytical studies in the space domain.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to translate analytical requirements into scalable, performant backend capabilities, including APIs, data pipelines, and integration services that support modeling, simulation, and trade space analysis.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position is ideal for a developer who enjoys working at the intersection of software engineering and analytical problem-solving, and who can rapidly deliver capabilities in support of evolving mission needs.</p>\n<p>On site support or candidates local to Colorado Springs are preferred; remote options are availalbe for the ideal candidate.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Headquartered in Tysons, Virginia, LMI is committed to delivering impactful results that strengthen missions and drive lasting value.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop and maintain backend services and application logic that support modeling, simulation, and analytical workflows within RAPTR® </li>\n <li>Translate analyst and data scientist needs into functional software features, including data ingestion, scenario configuration, and results management </li>\n <li>Design and implement APIs and service layers that enable interaction between the platform, analytical tools, and external systems </li>\n <li>Build and manage data pipelines and storage solutions to support large-scale analytical runs and scenario outputs </li>\n <li>Ensure efficient handling of high-volume simulation data, including performance optimization and scalability </li>\n <li>Collaborate closely with trade space analysts, data scientists, and systems engineers to ensure backend capabilities align with analytical objectives </li>\n <li>Integrate backend services with front-end interfaces and visualization tools </li>\n <li>Implement security best practices to protect sensitive and mission-critical data </li>\n <li>Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality, reliable software </li>\n <li>Support integration with engineering artifacts such as CONOPs, system architectures, interfaces, and data models </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field </li>\n <li>5–10 years of experience in backend software development (senior-level proficiency without over-constraining the candidate pool) </li>\n <li>Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js </li>\n <li>Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures </li>\n <li>Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) </li>\n <li>Experience building or supporting data-intensive applications or analytical platforms </li>\n <li>Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Django, Flask, or Spring Framework </li>\n <li>Strong understanding of software design principles, performance optimization, and scalable system design </li>\n <li>Experience with version control systems such as Git </li>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with loosely defined requirements </li>\n <li>Strong communication and collaboration skills </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience supporting modeling & simulation, wargaming, or analytical platforms </li>\n <li>Familiarity with cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure </li>\n <li>Experience building data pipelines, ETL processes, or distributed data systems </li>\n <li>Exposure to space domain applications or defense-related systems </li>\n <li>Experience working with data scientists or integrating machine learning workflows </li>\n <li>Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker) or orchestration tools </li>\n <li>Active TS/SCI clearance </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Security Clearance Requirements</strong></p>\n<p>Candidate must be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance and willingness to obtain a CI Poly. Candidates with an active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility will be given preference.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Target salary range: $101,144 - $174,591</p>\n<p>Disclaimer: The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation.
