    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>We are currently hiring a <strong>Taproom Assistant Manager</strong> at the <strong>Sam Adams Downtown Boston Taproom</strong> in <strong>Boston, MA</strong></p><p>The Taproom Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Tap Room (Front of House) at the Sam Adams Downtown Taproom.&nbsp;</p><p>The Assistant Manager directly supports the culture, craft, and creativity of the Brewery and Taproom. This position provides superior beer education and hospitality training while ensuring safe, sound operations. The Taproom Assistant Manager is responsible for staffing, scheduling, and maintaining an understanding of COGS, inventory procedures, and sales building. The ideal candidate has prior Front of House and retail/inventory experience.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What You'll Brew:</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Opens/Closes Taproom - weekend and weekday shifts</li><li>Participates in hiring, scheduling and training of all Taproom employees; adhering to employment laws.&nbsp;</li><li>Ensuring Taproom facilities are fully functioning daily, reporting issues and suggested improvements to the General Manager</li><li>Works closely with Brewing Operations on:<ul><li>Receiving beer, dry goods, &amp; cleaning supplies</li><li>Maintaining proper beer inventory levels&nbsp;</li><li>Updating Taproom printed menus as needed</li><li>Requesting specialty beers</li><li>Beer education for the Taproom staff and guests</li></ul></li><li>Merchandise &amp; Inventory<ul><li>Supplies – tracks and forecasts supply needs; i.e. glassware, cleaning supplies, gift cards, retail items</li><li>Conducts inventory as needed – weekly and/or monthly based on area of responsibility</li><li>Works with BBC to address inventory discrepancies and work on solutions to control shrinkage</li></ul></li><li>Cash handling- Daily oversight and reporting of cash on hand</li><li>Safety<ul><li>In charge of ensuring all Taproom employees have completed mandated trainings</li><li>Ensures that the cleanliness of the Taproom and the safety of our guests and employees are always maintained</li><li>Works with security to ensure only guests of legal age are permitted on the premises during volume hours</li></ul></li><li>In conjunction with all management, enforces compliance and adherence to all employment policies within the Assistant Manager’s area of responsibility</li><li>Participate in oral and written discipline</li><li>Assists with terminations as needed</li><li>Training and development<ul><li>In charge of Taproom employees’ position training – bartenders, security, support staff etc.</li><li>In charge of beer training and continued beer education for all Tap Room staff</li><li>Partners with General Manager to complete employee evaluations on an annual basis</li><li>Works with Head brewer to continuously develop and create an exceptional tour experience for the Tap Room guests</li><li>Assists with development of part-time employees</li></ul></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What Ingredients You'll Bring:&nbsp;</strong><br><br>Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.&nbsp;</p><p>Minimum Qualifications:</p><ul><li>3+ years either in high volume /restaurant/taproom/retail management</li><li>Excellent communication skills</li><li>Strong organization skills</li><li>Passion for craft beer and a desire to learn</li><li>Ability to solve problems and handle high stress situations</li><li>Strong computer skills</li><li>Must be well versed in Excel, Word, and Outlook</li><li>Outgoing and personable</li><li>Acts as a role model for all staff</li><li>Provide timely service that enhances guests’ Taproom experiences&nbsp;</li><li>Inspects food and food preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations</li><li>Investigate and resolve food/beer quality and service complaints</li><li>Open to coaching and constructive feedback from peers and leadership team</li><li>Ability to work with a team</li><li>Ability to interact well with others and conduct a fun, interactive, educational and successful promotion involving alcohol</li></ul><p class=\"TableParagraph\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 10pt; text-indent: 0in;\">Desired<span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.3pt;\">&nbsp;</span><span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.1pt;\">Qualifications:</span></p><ul><li><p class=\"TableParagraph\" style=\"margin-top: 1pt;\">Experience<span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.25pt;\">&nbsp;</span>in<span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.1pt;\">&nbsp;</span>the<span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.1pt;\">&nbsp;</span>craft<span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.1pt;\">&nbsp;</span>beer<span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.1pt;\"> industry</span></p></li><li><p class=\"TableParagraph\">Experience in retail/inventory management</p></li><li><p class=\"TableParagraph\">T.I.P.S.<span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.05pt;\">&nbsp;</span><span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.1pt;\">certified</span></p></li><li><p class=\"TableParagraph\">Craft<span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.1pt;\">&nbsp;</span>beer<span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.1pt;\"> background</span></p></li><li><p class=\"TableParagraph\">Experience&nbsp;working&nbsp;with&nbsp;a leading point of sale system.</p></li></ul><p class=\"TableParagraph\">&nbsp;</p><p class=\"TableParagraph\"><strong>Level: </strong>6</p><p>At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the annual salary range is between $62,000 and $114,000. However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location.
