Description

Overview This role supports Brookdale Community College’s Radio Station by coordinating and managing day-to-day social media activities, including content development and promoting brand awareness across digital platforms, in alignment with established guidelines. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of social media trends, culture, and storytelling, and can translate brand messaging into engaging content. The position works independently to prioritize assignments and manage content workflows while executing social media campaigns developed by leadership, ensuring consistency with established strategies and objectives. Responsibilities Job Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate and execute social media activities across assigned platforms. Develop and create social media content in alignment with established branding, messaging, and content guidelines, including posts, stories, graphics, photography, and short-form video. Coordinate the execution of assigned social media projects and campaigns, implementing content plans developed by leadership and ensuring alignment with departmental goals and branding. Capture and produce photo and video content at events, community initiatives, and organizational activities for marketing and promotional use. Write and adapt marketing copy following approved messaging standards. Monitor engagement across social media channels, respond to routine audience interaction, and prepare recommendations for improvement for supervisory review and approval. Collaborate with internal teams to support marketing initiatives, event promotion, brand awareness and audience development efforts. Exercise independent judgment in managing workflows and priorities within established objectives. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Associate’s Degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Two years of related experience. Experience executing social media content across multiple platforms in alignment with established guidelines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of social media platforms, scheduling tools, and analytics dashboards. Proven computer literacy skills at an intermediate level, including a proven ability to utilize and apply Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as specialized software programs and computer applications essential to the learning process, e.g. the College's Learning Management System and ERP. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
