Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Welder 1 is responsible for performing basic welding tasks under direct supervision. This role is ideal for those with foundational welding knowledge and a willingness to learn advanced techniques. The Welder 1 will assist in welding projects, focusing on quality and safety, while learning to interpret welding blueprints and other technical documentation.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform basic MIG and TIG welding on assigned materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, and ductile iron).
• Assist senior welders with preparation and fitting workpieces.
• Follow established procedures and specifications to produce quality welds.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Adhere to all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification in basic welding techniques or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Strong willingness to learn and improve.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Basic understanding of MIG/TIG welding.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Basic problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, or overtime when needed
Physical
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
• Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
• Comfortable working in a loud, industrial environment with protective gear.
