Let our craftsmen create the metal products you need.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Overview: </span>Delta Metals seeks a strong leader in welding, fabrication, and quality control to lead a team of diverse welders and fabricators in our industrial services shop. Your attention to detail, time management, and lead-by-example nature will be critical assets to this role. If you are looking for a way to make a difference in a growing company and a fast-paced industry, this is the position for you.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Production &amp; Productivity</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assign and oversee individual work duties for all assigned employees</li>\n<li>Manage workflow through the welding shop to maintain production and delivery schedules.</li>\n<li>Know the capabilities and/or limitations of each assigned employee and assign work accordingly.</li>\n<li>Assure that all assigned welding shop employees know how to read and interpret shop fabrication sketches and blueprints.</li>\n<li>Oversee inspection and assure that quality is being maintained.</li>\n<li>Make certain that every project is fabricated and/or assembled correctly before releasing for shipment or installation.</li>\n<li>Ensure that all assigned projects and tasks are completed efficiently and safely.</li>\n<li>Assure that shop time and stock materials are being correctly charged for each project.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Equipment, Housekeeping and Maintenance</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assure that all assigned employees know and understand the safe and proper operation of all fabrication equipment (rollers, ironworker, overhead crane/hoist, etc.)</li>\n<li>Do not assign or allow any employee to use or operate any equipment unless they have been properly trained.</li>\n<li>Assure that all employee work areas are clean and free from debris daily.</li>\n<li>Ensure that all shop equipment is working properly and that scheduled maintenance is being performed as required.</li>\n<li>Enforce all proper PPE requirements while in the shop from every employee.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Shipping, Receiving &amp; Inventory</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organize and maintain adequate shop stock inventory.</li>\n<li>Receive and assign storage locations of incoming project materials</li>\n<li>Ensure that all receipts and shipping lists are promptly turned in.</li>\n<li>Assure that stock and received materials are stored and organized neatly and safely.</li>\n<li>Assure that shop floor and work areas are not cluttered.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Policy, Disciplinary, &amp; Training</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage, oversee and evaluate all assigned welding shop personnel including their attitude, productivity, workmanship and quality.</li>\n<li>Immediately address any disciplinary or behavioral issues</li>\n<li>Ensure that all company safety policies and procedures are strictly followed.</li>\n<li>Ensure that assigned employees receive safety training as needed.</li>\n<li>Properly train and oversee mentoring of all new hires and inexperienced fabricators.</li>\n<li>Perform periodic evaluations to ensure that all assigned employees are performing their duties as required.</li>\n<li>Assure that all assigned personnel are not participating in excessive talk, gossip, spreading rumors or horseplay.</li>\n<li>Assure that all assigned employees are not roaming or out of their assigned work areas unless required.</li>\n<li>Assure that company cell phone usage policy is being strictly enforced.</li>\n<li>Assure that all assigned employees arrive at work on time, are in their work areas promptly and are not leaving their workstations no more than 5 minutes before quitting time.</li>\n<li>Assure that all assigned employees do not leave their work areas before scheduled times for lunch, or morning and afternoon breaks. Ensure that employees promptly return to work areas.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Daily Tasks</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Evaluate shop workload and request additional manpower or overtime if needed</li>\n<li>Maintain and update shop fabrication logs</li>\n<li>Before leaving the premises, ensure that:\n<ul>\n<li>All employees have left the building</li>\n<li>Shop doors are locked and secured</li>\n<li>All hand and power tools are put away</li>\n<li>All machinery, fans and heaters are turned off</li>\n<li>Shop lights are off</li>\n<li>Security alarms/electronic beams are clear and alarm panel light is green</li>\n<li>Gates are closed and locked</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure employee time is entered correctly each day in the timekeeping system, and ensure every shop employee is clocking in and out daily.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Skills &amp; Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>3-5 years’ experience as a sheet metal worker, welder, or fabricator, preferably in a leadership role</li>\n<li>Previous foreman experience a plus</li>\n<li>Advanced knowledge of metal fabrication; ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints</li>\n<li>Requires the ability to use a phone and tablet to input data, such a timecard information, emails, etc.</li>\n<li>Bilingual (Spanish) a plus for this role</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Location:</span> 218 East Lathrop Avenue, Savannah, GA 31415</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working Environment:</span> Work is typically performed while standing in a limited-temperature-controlled shop.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Salary: </span>Starting at $25/hour, but depends on experience</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Benefits: </span>Delta Metals has a generous benefits package to include Medical, dental vision, life, long and short-term disability, as well as accident, cancer, and critical illness plans, HSA, 401K, Vacation &amp; sick time, and 6 paid company holidays.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>It is the policy of Delta Metals, Inc. not to discriminate against any applicant for employment, or any employee because of age, color, sex, disability, national origin, race, religion, or veteran status.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>",
