Description We are recruiting a pediatric-focused faculty innovator who will substantially impact child health through groundbreaking research. This position offers a unique opportunity to conduct research in a multidisciplinary setting impacting one or more areas of biomedical science. In partnership with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, faculty appointments will be primary in the Department of Pediatrics within the Emory University School of Medicine, with the possibility of a joint appointment with other departments at Emory University. We offer a highly interactive collegial research environment with state-of-the-art facilities, as well as proximity to and collaborations with the Winship Cancer Institute, the Emory Vaccine Center, Emory Lowance Center for Immunology, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Qualifications Record of Outstanding Research Productivity: Areas of research include clinical/translational and outcomes-based research in epidemiology, public health, and/or surgical outcomes research Past productivity and established track record should be commensurate with experience level with future potential to significantly impact various domains of biomedical science or medicine. National Grant Portfolio: For senior candidates, a robust national grant portfolio, preferably with a proven track record of securing large or multi-PI grants. For early career candidates, a proven track record in securing research funding illustrating the potential for grant funding success Innovative Technology Platform: Scope of work should include development and implementation of a novel 'technology' platform that has the potential to be catalytic and make a profound impact across multiple areas. Areas of interest include artificial intelligence and machine learning, imaging, data science, and omics-based technologies. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: A record of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, promoting teamwork, and creating an environment conducive to innovative research. Proven ability to synergize and collaborate with ongoing research activities at institutions like Emory University and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta thus enhancing the collective impact of research initiatives. Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience commensurate with career stage, showcasing the ability to think on a big-picture scale and strategically guide research efforts. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University have worked together since 1998, facilitating leading-edge pediatric research, training, and innovation. Together, our partnership advances research and facilitates evidence-based quality care for children. The Emory Department of Pediatrics has been ranked in the Top 5 pediatric departments in National Institutes of Health research funding since 2016 and was ranked #1 in 2020 and 2022.
