This role focuses on embedding safeguards-by-design principles, ensuring compliance with domestic and international regulations while addressing the unique characteristics of IMSR technology.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Other Responsibilities Include:</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Integrate safeguards features into IMSR design processes, ensuring alignment with DOE, NRC and IAEA requirements while accommodating the unique characteristics of liquid salt fuel systems</li>\n<li>Collaborate with engineering teams to embed material accountability measures into facility layouts, process flows, and operational procedures without compromising reactor performance and safety</li>\n<li>Serve as primary liaison with NRC, IAEA, and DOE on safeguards matters during the design phase</li>\n<li>Develop the regulatory reporting structure and prepare regulatory submissions including Design Information Questionnaires</li>\n<li>Ensure design compliance with 10 CFR Parts 50, 74 and 75, DOE orders, and IAEA safeguards standards</li>\n<li>Develop measurement and monitoring protocols for special nuclear materials in molten salt form</li>\n<li>Design inventory verification procedures and material balance assessment methodologies</li>\n<li>Define material access areas and containment/surveillance strategies appropriate for liquid fuel systems</li>\n<li>Specify requirements for non-destructive assay equipment and analytical chemistry capabilities suited to molten salt applications</li>\n<li>Conduct measurement uncertainty analyses to optimize material tracking accuracy</li>\n<li>Evaluate emerging technologies for real-time material accountability and process monitoring</li>\n<li>Support the holistic integration off safety, security and safeguards (3S) within the design and design processes</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Core Competencies</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regulatory knowledge and compliance mindset</li>\n<li>Systems thinking for design integration</li>\n<li>Technical communication and stakeholder engagement</li>\n<li>Innovation in addressing novel safeguards challenges</li>\n<li>Ethical commitment to nonproliferation objectives</li>\n<li>Communication</li>\n<li>Critical Thinking</li>\n<li>Decision Making</li>\n<li>Problem Solving</li>\n<li>Results Orientation</li>\n<li>Team player with the ability to collaborate and interact with other groups</li>\n<li>Flexible and adaptable to change</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in nuclear engineering, physics, or related technical field</li>\n<li>Minimum 4 years of experience in nuclear safeguards material accountancy, and reactor safety in research or industrial environments</li>\n<li>Strong understanding of NRC and IAEA safeguards regulations and their application to advanced reactor designs</li>\n<li>Experience with statistical analysis<br>Experience with material accounting systems, inventory verification, and measurement uncertainty analysis</li>\n<li>Familiarity with safeguards equipment and seals</li>\n<li>Familiarity with non-destructive assay technologies and nuclear material measurement systems</li>\n<li>Proficiency with simulation and analysis tools for safeguards applications</li>\n<li>Excellent technical writing skills for regulatory documentation and design reports</li>\n<li>Experience managing technical projects with competing priorities and deadlines</li>\n<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with risk-based decision-making skills</li>\n<li>Background in nuclear nonproliferation or international safeguards implementation</li>\n<li>Familiarity with advanced monitoring technologies and data analytics applications for safeguards</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Assets</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Education in the nuclear field</li>\n<li>Experience with molten salt reactor technology, other advanced reactor concepts or with material accountancy / safeguards for nonsolid material facilities (e.g., fuel fabrication/processing plants, waste management facilities).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;
