If you’re ready for your work to matter, we’re ready to hear from you!</p><p>We’re currently growing our team of Artisans with an Operations Technician to support our Sherwood Park market. This role is responsible for directing the set-up and supporting the execution objectives of the Operations Project Managers on RTI projects.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>** </strong><em><strong>The successful candidate will be engaged as a contract employee through an approved staffing agency.</strong></em> &nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Duties &amp; Responsibilities</p><p>· Directs refinery personnel and contractors on the staging of RTI chemistry.</p><p>· Safely sets up RTI equipment (places and connects RTI-owned pumps and hoses).</p><p>· Manages refinery contractors (mechanical fitters) as they connect RTI equipment to the injection points and plant utilities.</p><p>· Operate and supervise others operating RTI-owned pumps during the chemical injection.</p><p>· Leads clean-up efforts after the project and de-mobilizes equipment, per specified procedures.</p><p>· Assists Operations Project Managers as requested.</p><p>· Perform periodic, scheduled, and as needed maintenance on RTI Injection Pumps and Equipment.</p><p>· Maintain a consistent level of competency on RTI Injection Pump Operation and Maintenance.</p><p><br></p><p>Minimum Qualifications</p><p>· Understanding of refinery piping circuits and PFD drawings of the application (strong mechanical aptitude).</p><p>· Ability to clearly and confidently communicate plans to refinery contractors (strong communication skills- written and verbal).</p><p>· Ability to diagnose and solve problems during the actual applications.</p><p>· Performs work safely in all settings.</p><p>· Valid passport and driver’s license.</p><p><br></p><p>Additional or Preferred Qualifications</p><p>· Documented mechanical aptitude or formal mechanical education. Preference is given to those with process knowledge of upgrader, refinery or petrochemical units.</p><p><br></p><p>Working Conditions / Physical Demands</p><p>The Company requires passing a pre-employment physical in which an objective medical professional will determine whether you can safely meet the physical demands of the position.</p><p>· Duration of Workhours During Project Executions:</p><p>· Typically, 12 continuous hours that may extend up to 14 - 16 hours if an emergent need exists.</p><p>· Day shift and/or night shift.</p><p>· Working Conditions During Project Executions:</p><p>· Uneven or unstable ground, and wet, muddy, or slippery surfaces and footings.</p><p>· Outside locations in extreme temperatures and weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, and other forms of inclement weather.</p><p><br></p><p>· Physical Demands:</p><p>· Work at heights up to 150 ft/ 45m accessed via stairs, climbing ladders. This requires an ability to climb ladders and stairs without issue.</p><p>· Lifting and carrying up to 40lbs., without assistance.</p><p>· Pushing / pulling up to 100 lbs., without assistance.</p><p>· Standing and walking for up to 12 to 14 hours daily with minimal rest breaks. May exceed 10,000 to 15,000 steps per day.</p><p>· Bending and stooping repeatedly and performing task including twisting or turning valves and using wrenches and hand tools.</p><p><br></p><p>Travel Requirements</p><p>· Ability to travel to multiple North American markets for supporting a growing list of clients.
