This role ensures optimal performance and reliability of equipment while adhering to safety and food manufacturing standards.</p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li><strong>Equipment Maintenance:</strong><ul type=\"circle\"><li>Perform daily and weekly equipment startups, ensuring smooth operations.</li><li>Set up production lines and make necessary equipment tooling changes.</li><li>Troubleshoot and repair a range of process equipment, including mixers, depositors, metal detectors, conveyors, shrink film equipment, printers, labelers, and scales.</li><li>Conduct preventive maintenance to maintain equipment in optimal working condition.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Facility Maintenance:</strong><ul type=\"circle\"><li>Perform daily inspections of refrigeration equipment, roof areas, utility rooms, and other critical facility spaces.</li><li>Respond promptly to maintenance calls from various production departments, providing support and troubleshooting assistance.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Compliance and Documentation:</strong><ul type=\"circle\"><li>Follow company procedures and safety protocols while performing all tasks.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.</li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Competencies:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Proficient in mechanical and electrical repairs.</li><li>Ability to diagnose and replace mechanical components (e.g., bearings, shafts, chains, v-belts).</li><li>Skilled in troubleshooting electrical failures and replacing components (e.g., 3-phase motors, fuses, relays).</li><li>Understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for troubleshooting (programming not required).</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.</li></ul><p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>No direct supervisory responsibilities. Works collaboratively with the maintenance team and production staff.</li></ul><p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Indoor manufacturing environment.</li><li>Exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.</li><li>Requires adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods.</li><li>Frequent bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), twisting, and climbing ladders (up to 30 feet high).</li></ul><p><strong>Position Type:</strong></p><ul><li>Full-Time</li></ul><p><strong>Work Hours:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>3:00pm - 11:30pm with the possibility of overtime.</li><li>May include weekend shifts as needed to support maintenance and production activities.</li></ul><p><strong>Travel:</strong> Minimal to none.</p><p><strong>Required Education &amp; Experience:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>High school diploma or equivalent vocational training.</li><li>Relevant experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Education &amp; Experience:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Certification or experience in waste water operations and ammonia refrigeration.</li><li>HVAC Technician License.</li><li>Basic plumbing and welding knowledge.</li><li>Experience with food manufacturing equipment and processes.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Desired Skills and Experience (Not required):</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Forklift operator certification and experience.</li><li>Advanced skills in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.</li><li>Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting tools (e.g., multi-meters, voltage testers, amperage testers).</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;Compensation:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\">The typical starting salary range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00 an hour. Several factors, including skills, experience, education, certifications, and the location of the job will determine the actual pay offered.
