What’s happening at Vay
First to roll out vehicles in both Europe and the USA on public roads without a human being inside & currently the 2nd largest commercial, driverless car fleet in the Western World.
We've partnered with Kodiak to bring remote-driving technology to autonomous trucks in the US, showcasing our ability to integrate our system into heavy-duty commercial vehicles and expand the applications of our tech across the US.
We’ve completed 10’s of thousands of trips so far and are busy multiplying our Las Vegas fleet just to meet demand!
...And soon we’ll be expanding across the US & Europe 🚀
Why this role is exciting
As Senior Production Manager (US) you will own the day-to-day execution of vehicle and remote driving stations end-to-end bring up operations on-site in Las Vegas, including warehouse, logistics, production, testing and releases to the Vay fleet.
You will be the hands-on lead of a multi-disciplinary bring up team, responsible for receiving, integrating, diagnosing, testing, and releasing vehicles and remote driving stations to the Vay fleet in US, as well as make sure the running fleet is updated with latest hardware features.
What you’ll be driving
Bringup Execution & Delivery
Own end-to-end bring-up execution for vehicles and remote driving stations: inbound logistics and inventory, hardware integration, diagnostics, software bring-up, end-of-line (EOL) testing, and release to fleet
Manage daily and weekly warehouse and production schedules, ensuring bring-up targets are met with predictable, consistent throughput
Track and report bring-up KPIs (vehicles per day, cycle time, first-pass yield, release rate) and drive corrective action when targets are missed
Ensure every vehicle released meets Vay's quality, safety, and regulatory requirements before deployment
Act as the single POC for managing external partners involved in the bring-up programs (e.G. services providers, auto dealers, painters and repairs, etc.)
Technicians Team & Workshop Management
Lead, coach, and develop a team of bring-up technicians and test operators
Maintain clear shift structures, task assignments, and escalation paths across the bring-up workshop
Ensure tooling, equipment, test rigs, and facility layouts are safe, clean, maintained, calibrated and fit-for-purpose
Drive structured handovers, work order discipline, and documentation standards across the team
Quality, Safety & Discipline
Enforce safety protocols, PPE compliance, and a zero-compromise culture around workshop safety
Champion process discipline: Standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and controlled deviations
Work with Production Quality team to ensure root cause analysis (RCA) for bring-up defects, test failures, CAPAs and release holds, without compromising on delivery targets (effectively manage the quantity/cost/quality triangle)
Continuous Improvement & Process Development
Work with Process Engineer to identify and implement improvements to bring-up workflows, test sequences, tooling, and work instructions
Reduce cycle time and rework rates through structured problem-solving and lean practices
Partner with Global Production to align on best practices, process updates, and new platform rollouts
Support industrialization of new hardware revisions and vehicle variants into stable bring-up processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as the primary on-site interface for Engineering, Fleet Operations, Supply Chain and Hardware Quality during bring-up
Escalate and track engineering issues, part shortages, and software blockers impacting bring-up throughput
Coordinate with Supply Chain on parts availability, kitting, and inventory management at the workshop level
Provide structured daily/weekly status updates to production leadership on bring-up health, blockers, and delivery outlook
What we are looking for
5+ years of progressive experience in vehicle production, automotive manufacturing, systems integration, or vehicle bring-up operations
2+ years of direct experience managing technical teams (technicians, engineers, test operators) in a production or workshop environment
Strong hands-on technical background in vehicle systems: electrical/electronic architectures, mechatronics, diagnostics, and software-hardware integration
Demonstrated experience running structured bring-up, integration, or end-of-line testing processes
Proficiency with defect tracking, build documentation, and production management tools (Jira, ERP/MES systems, or equivalent)
Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field preferred
Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, advanced mobility, or EV platforms is a strong plus
