The Recycling Associate is responsible for&nbsp;operating heavy equipment including cardboard balers, pallet jacks, stock pickers, foam densifiers, shredders, and other recycling equipment. They also are a&nbsp;quality control inspector and remove unwanted or harmful materials while sorting recyclables.&nbsp;The ideal Recycling Associate develops strategies to improve recycling efforts,&nbsp;adheres to quality expectations and standards, and&nbsp;has excellent attention to detail. &nbsp;If you are eager to help the environment and make a difference, then AFW is looking for you!</i></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Duties/Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><i>Typical duties include but are not limited to:</i></p>\n<ul>\n <li><i>Sorting various materials such as cardboard, Styrofoam, and scrap items into appropriate machinery for recycling&nbsp;</i></li>\n <li><i>Operating balers to compress recyclable materials into bundles or bales&nbsp;</i></li>\n <li><i>Operating various equipment to load items onto trucks for shipping and pick up&nbsp;</i></li>\n <li><i>Transporting recyclables, scrap, and trash throughout the warehouse.</i></li>\n <li><i>Lock Out Tag Out (L.O.T.O) equipment as needed.</i></li>\n <li><i>Ensure department, walking lanes, and nearby areas are clean and professional.</i></li>\n <li><i>Cleaning and maintaining recycling equipment</i></li>\n <li><i>Ensuring your safety and the safety of all others at all times.</i></li>\n <li><i>Abide by all company policies and procedures.</i></li>\n <li><i>All other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager as directed.</i></li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Compensation Package:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p><i>Pay rate: Hourly pay starting at $16 Depending on Experience</i></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Supervision Given and Received:</strong></p>\n<p><i>This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This position is supervised directly by the&nbsp;Maintenance Manager.&nbsp;</i></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills/Abilities:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><i>Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.&nbsp;</i></li>\n <li><i>Ability to be trained on the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).</i></li>\n <li><i>Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker helpful but not required.</i></li>\n <li><i>Have a strong independent work ethic.</i></li>\n <li><i>Excellent organizational skill and the ability to demonstrate attention to detail, and accuracy.</i></li>\n <li><i>Ability to prioritize tasks when appropriate.</i></li>\n <li><i>Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on AFW’s success</i></li>\n <li><i>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.</i></li>\n <li><i>Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.</i></li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Personal Competencies:</strong></p>\n<p><i>To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:</i></p>\n<ul>\n <li><i><strong>Analytical</strong> - Ability to analyze, collect and research data and read reports, fierce attention to detail.</i></li>\n <li><i><strong>Mathematical Skills</strong> -Basic math skills required.
