We’ve built a national reputation for using data and technology to improve how public services work—and we’re continuing to grow.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to help lead development of digital tools that support Child, Youth &amp; Families (CYF) operations and improve how caseworkers, supervisors, and partners coordinate services and protect children. This role sits within the Office of Analytics, Technology, and Planning (ATP) and will report to our product leadership team.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About the Role</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll report to our Product Strategy Manager and work closely with the CTO and Director of UX to shape products that strengthen child welfare operations. You’ll lead product discovery, planning, and delivery for tools that support referrals, investigations, case management, documentation, and coordination with courts and service providers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We’re looking for someone who can dig beneath surface-level requests to uncover the true operational need, navigate diverse stakeholder priorities, and make decisions that align with broader strategic goals. Child welfare work is complex, compliance-driven, and high stakes — this role requires both empathy for frontline realities and discipline in execution.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You’ll partner closely with engineers, designers, analysts, and CYF leadership to define what success looks like and ensure products are usable, reliable, and aligned with regulatory requirements.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with CYF leadership, supervisors, and frontline staff to define user needs, scope features, and prioritize work.</li>\n<li>Lead product development from discovery through delivery, partnering with UX, engineering, and data teams to build practical, user-centered solutions.</li>\n<li>Champion an iterative approach—starting with workflow mapping, lightweight prototypes, or manual pilots to validate ideas before scaling.</li>\n<li>Translate complex casework processes and compliance requirements into clear product requirements.</li>\n<li>Contribute to department-wide product strategy and ensure alignment across initiatives affecting CYF.</li>\n<li>Support modernization of existing systems and workflows while balancing near-term improvements with long-term platform evolution.</li>\n<li>Clearly communicate product goals, decisions, trade-offs, and progress to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Provide informal mentorship to junior product managers and service delivery managers and help establish best practices across the product team.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We’re Looking For</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>5+ years of hands-on experience as a product manager, including delivering products from discovery through launch.</li>\n<li>Strong communication skills and the ability to work across teams with diverse stakeholders, including program staff and leadership.</li>\n<li>Skilled at breaking down complex problems and defining practical MVPs using prototypes or non-technical validation approaches.</li>\n<li>Comfortable collaborating with engineers and designers to develop reliable, user-centered systems.</li>\n<li>Experience working in child welfare, human services, public sector, or other regulated, compliance-driven environments is strongly preferred.</li>\n<li>Ability to balance user experience improvements with documentation, reporting, and regulatory requirements.</li>\n<li>Committed to collaboration, continuous learning, and improving public services through thoughtful use of technology.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Application</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a salaried role with benefits, reporting to our product leadership, and fully embedded with the DHS team.
