The specialist position enhances team</p><p>readiness at operations bases and supports flight and ground missions.</p><p>Operations Support Specialists provide safe and timely transport of team members, patients and patient</p><p>families from hospitals to aircraft and as necessary to support other AeroMD missions. Specialists should</p><p>be comfortable with providing out-of-hospital care at their level of care and within the guidelines of AeroMD</p><p>protocols, policies, and procedures. AeroMD missions can be challenging so the operations support</p><p>specialist must utilize critical thinking and be willing to learn new skills as needed to provide safe and</p><p>reliable support functions.</p><p>This position is, at times, both physically and intellectually demanding. Specialists are expected to prepare</p><p>as necessary to adequately meet such demands.</p><p>DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</p><p> Drive company vehicles, including ambulances, to support missions</p><p> Coordinate with Operations Director to assure vehicles, supplies, equipment, and gear are mission</p><p>ready</p><p> Assist with the movement/loading/unloading of patients</p><p> Operate power stretchers and other loading/unloading devices</p><p> Maintain vehicle readiness and cleanliness, including decontamination</p><p> Function at his or her medical level of care when necessary</p><p> Be competent with level-specific medical equipment such as automated external defibrillators, bag</p><p>valve mask resuscitators, suction devices, fluid pumps, ventilators</p><p> Coordinate efforts with team members, ambulance, police, fire department, and other emergency</p><p>services as necessary</p><p> Maintain equipment, vehicles, facilities, and base readiness</p><p> Assist with disaster preparedness/response efforts</p><p> Provide and assist with other reasonable duties as assigned by the Operations Director</p><p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p><p>Provide and assist with other reasonable duties as assigned by the Program Director or Chief Medical</p><p>Officer.</p><p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</p><p>On occasion may accept leadership responsibilities but none that are supervisory.</p><p>QUALIFICATIONS</p><p>The qualifications listed below are representative of those required to successfully fulfil the duties and</p><p>responsibilities but may be adjusted for specific positions.</p><p>REQUIRED</p><p> Minimum of High School diploma or GED</p><p> Minimum of active National Registry EMR or National Registry EMT and medical provider CPR certifications</p><p> Valid U.S. Virgin Islands Driver&rsquo;s License</p><p> Emergency Vehicles Operators Course (EVOC) or approved equivalent certification</p><p> Ability to access and interpret maps, understand directions, and use navigation tools</p><p> Exhibit a high degree of reliability, dependability and competency in previous work performance</p><p> Able to move/assist with moving patients utilizing proper lifting/movement techniques</p><p>PREFERRED</p><p> Knowledge of vehicle maintenance</p><p> At least three years of experience driving and being a part of an ambulance crew</p><p> Recent experience driving emergency vehicles in emergency situations</p><p>MEDICAL COMPETENCIES</p><p>Possess level-specific medical competencies as defined by the VI Department of Health and AeroMD</p><p>protocols and standards.</p><p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p><p>Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to</p><p>successfully perform essential functions of this job.
