The ideal candidate has experience operating heavy machinery and can perform excavation tasks in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment while maintaining strong safety awareness.<strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Operate heavy equipment, primarily excavators, in support of construction activities</li>\n <li>May operate additional equipment such as:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Loaders</li>\n   <li>Backhoes</li>\n   <li>Dozers</li>\n   <li>Graders</li>\n   <li>Skid steers</li>\n   <li>Rollers</li>\n   <li>Forklifts or other site-specific machinery</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Perform excavation-related tasks, including digging, trenching, grading, lifting, and material handling</li>\n <li>Excavate for utilities such as water, sewer, and storm systems with precision and care</li>\n <li>Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety issues promptly</li>\n <li>Follow site plans, grade stakes, and/or GPS machine control systems</li>\n <li>Work closely with ground crews, pipelayers, and site supervisors to complete work accurately</li>\n <li>Maintain constant awareness of surroundings to avoid damage to underground utilities, structures, or personnel</li>\n <li>Assist with manual labor and general site duties when equipment operation is not required</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, traffic control regulations, and equipment operating standards</li>\n <li>Clean and maintain tools and equipment at the end of each shift</li>\n <li>Perform other labor-related tasks as assigned by supervisors</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum OSHA 10 certification required</li>\n <li><p>2-5 years of experience operating heavy equipment in civil or road construction, preferred.</p></li>\n <li>Valid driver's license required; CDL and equipment certifications preferred.</li>\n <li><p>Ability to read blueprints, grade stakes, and understand site layout.</p></li>\n <li><p>Knowledge of equipment capabilities, limitations, and maintenance.</p></li>\n <li>Maintain safe and secure work environment by complying with government standards and legal regulations. Practice good safety habits.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, and techniques.</li>\n <li>Follow instructions and meet set standards.</li>\n <li>Judge distances and slopes accurately.</li>\n <li>Communicate with supervisors, peers, and/or subordinates.</li>\n <li>Make decisions based on verifiable standards.</li>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Physical Demands:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Position requires physically demanding work in field conditions.</li>\n <li>Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl for extended periods of time.</li>\n <li>Possess physical strength to operate heavy and power-driven equipment.</li>\n <li>Coordinate the use of eyes, hands, arms, and legs fully. Work easily and skillfully with hands.</li>\n <li>Vision – ability to see details at close range and details at a distance (either naturally or with correction).</li>\n <li>Lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.</li>\n <li>Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of machines or vehicle to exact positions.</li>\n <li>Ability to judge the distance between you and an object, depth perception.</li>\n <li>Ability to respond to a signal when it appears, reaction time.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Environmental Conditions:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>May work outside and exposed to weather.</li>\n <li>Wear protective or safety equipment, i.e., safety boots/shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.</li>\n <li>May be exposed to high levels of noise, grease, dust, and a variety of substances that are typically associated with a construction site.</li>\n <li>Work in dusty or dirty surroundings.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Location: Brownsville, TX</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Equal Employment Opportunity</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Posillico Civil, Inc. is committed to maintaining a working environment that promotes teamwork and that is free of any and all forms of unlawful discrimination and harassment.
