This role leads and supervises a team of 13 operations staff, including 11 Equipment Operators/Scale Operators and 1 Laborer, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant landfill operations.</span></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">The position manages weekday operations with a Monday–Friday start time of 6:00 a.m., with occasional Saturday coverage as operational needs require. The Landfill Operations Manager ensures compliance with all environmental regulations, promotes safety best practices, and coordinates landfill activities such as waste placement, equipment utilization, cover management, and site maintenance.</span></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">The ideal candidate will bring previous landfill experience, a strong understanding of environmental regulations, or a background in general construction with earth‑moving operations, combined with proven leadership and operational oversight skills. This role serves as a key liaison with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders while driving efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.</span></span></p><p><br><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><strong><u>What You'll be Doing</u></strong></span></span><br><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">&nbsp;</span></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Ensures smooth operation of landfill: ongoing construction, permitting, leachate/gas management.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Minimizes operational costs while maximizing productivity and maintaining safety and environmental compliance.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Continually works to reduce turnaround time for trucks in and out of site.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Accurately tracks waste volume and weight.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Acts as a liaison, where necessary, for community relationships.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Actively monitors ongoing permitting issues.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Complies with and ensures adherence to WM’s Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Meets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.</span></span></li><li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employee performance.
