Description

Description The Center at Northridge is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic services to our residents, focusing on improving their independence, mobility, and quality of life within a skilled nursing environment. Key Responsibilities: Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist to help residents regain independence in activities of daily living (ADLs). Assist residents with exercises, adaptive equipment training, and cognitive interventions. Monitor resident progress and provide detailed documentation of treatment sessions and outcomes. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, therapists, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all residents during therapy sessions. Educate residents and their families on home exercise programs and the use of assistive devices. Qualifications Valid COTA certification from an accredited program. Current state licensure in good standing. Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care preferred. Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care. Ability to physically assist residents with mobility and transfers. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
