Description

Serverfarm is a leading developer and operator of data centers with over 750+ locations and key customer relationships in 45 countries. We're revolutionizing how data centers operate across North America, Western Europe, and Israel, serving the world's leading technology and hyperscale companies. With Manulife Investment Management's acquisition in 2023 and our award-winning InCommand platform we're positioned for explosive growth as AI adoption and cloud migration drive unprecedented demand for data center capacity. A career at Serverfarm means being at the forefront of digital infrastructure innovation, where your work directly impacts how the world's data is managed and secured. As we target 4x growth over the next four years, you'll have unprecedented opportunities to take on new challenges, develop cutting-edge skills, and grow your career across our expanding global operations. Join our team of innovators and help shape the future of sustainable data centers while building a career without boundaries. Serverfarm is looking for a Data Center Technical Content Specialist who has spent time in a data center. You know what it takes to keep critical infrastructure running. You have worked with electrical distribution, mechanical cooling systems, and the monitoring and control systems that tie it all together. And you can explain how those systems work to someone who is still learning. This is not a traditional technical writing role. We are not looking for someone who documents from a distance. We are looking for someone who has done the work and can now help us make sure our training content reflects what actually happens in a data center, not just what looks good on paper. Serverfarm is committed to providing an equal opportunity workplace and offers paid time off, paid holidays, 401k and FULL coverage medical, dental and vision. Our compensation philosophy rewards employees for achieving the values and objectives aligned with the company’s goals and strategic initiatives. The listed salary range for this position is an estimate based on the competitive job market. Final compensation will be based on your own individual skills, experience, and location. The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this role. They are not intended to serve as an exhaustive list of all possible responsibilities and duties. We encourage you to apply even if your experience isn't an exact match to the job description. Key Accountabilities Review technical training scripts, lesson plans, and sequence of operations (SOO) documentation for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Serverfarm operating procedures. Validate training assessments to confirm they measure real competency and operational readiness at the appropriate technician role levels. Identify gaps, outdated content, and inconsistencies across the training library and drive updates to keep materials current. Partner with operations, engineering, and learning and development teams to ensure training content supports Serverfarm's business objectives and operational maturity model. Review vendor technical bulletins and product updates for impact on Serverfarm operations and training requirements. Engage with equipment vendors and internal engineering stakeholders to ensure vendor-specific content is accurate and correctly contextualized for Serverfarm environments. Provide clear, constructive written and verbal feedback on technical and training documentation to both technical and non-technical audiences. Support standardization of training content across Serverfarm sites while allowing for site-specific requirements where necessary. Required Skills Technical Background Hands-on experience as a data center technician , ideally in a hyperscale, enterprise, or colocation environment. Working knowledge of critical infrastructure systems including electrical distribution, mechanical cooling, and associated monitoring and control systems. Solid understanding of system design and sequence of operations (SOO). Familiarity with data center industry best practices for safety, security, availability, and reliability. Communication and Translation Skills Ability to take complex technical information and turn it into clear, usable content for technicians at varying experience levels. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to give direct, constructive feedback on documentation. Comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders including technicians, engineers, trainers, vendors, and leadership. Mindset and Approach Detail-oriented with a quality and governance mindset. Confident in reviewing content and requesting changes based on operational risk and accuracy. Collaborative, pragmatic, and safety-focused. Experience reviewing technical documents or training content is a plus, not a requirement. This role requires approximately 30-40% travel to Serverfarm data center sites across the US.
