Brief summary of purpose The PACE Staff Development and Education Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing training initiatives, to ensure staff competency, regulatory compliance, and safe, high‑quality, person‑centered care to a frail elder population. This role supports regulatory readiness, workforce development, professional growth, and development of education programs across interdisciplinary teams. The Specialist collaborates closely with the director of quality and regulatory compliance, Site Directors, clinical and operational leaders, FH learning and development partners, and other leaders as needed. Responsibilities Primary Job Responsibilities: Coordinate and maintain the PACE‑specific new hire orientation process, aligned with PACE and organizational standards. Ensure all new staff complete PACE Model of Care orientation, HIPAA, compliance, emergency preparedness, and all other required PACE and corporate training. Regularly review orientation and onboarding training to ensure efficient, appropriate, and compliant process in line with PACE requirements Maintain onboarding competency documentation in accordance with organizational policy. Create and maintain competency checklists, skills validation tools, and educational training plans. Maintain accurate records of staff training, related certifications and compliance Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to validate training content and ensure competency alignment across all disciplines. Develop and deliver education related to PACE, including but not limited to participant care expectations, regulatory changes, clinical requirements, interdisciplinary workflows, etc. Ensure all training aligns with PACE regulations, state/federal requirements, and organizational policies Maintain audit‑ready training documentation, including attendance, competency validation, and completion records. Regularly update training programs to reflect clinical, operational, or regulatory changes Analyze training needs and collaborate with leadership to address skill gaps or performance concerns Support professional development pathways through internal learning platforms and external education opportunities. Assist with remediation plans and follow‑up education to ensure staff meet performance and competency expectations. Utilize multiple training methods (in‑person, Learning Management Systems, small‑group sessions, hands‑on skills, etc.) as appropriate and applicable Conduct site visits as needed to observe, learn or gain necessary information in order to develop appropriate and related training. Lead, monitor, and support on-site training in person when necessary Use adult learning principles to create educational materials Evaluate program effectiveness and implement educational improvement strategies. Serve as a primary resource for staff and leadership regarding PACE training requirements and education planning. Communicate training schedules, updates, and requirements across the program Support leadership initiatives related to education, standardization, and workforce development. Collaborate with director of quality to develop training that addresses performance gaps and enhances patient safety and quality of care Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, education, business, human resources, or related field. Master’s degree in nursing, education, or a related field (preferred but not required) License/Certifications Active RN license in Massachusetts (if registered nurse) Desired added certifications: Certification in adult learning or workforce, Certified Nurse educator, certified healthcare educator, or equivalent certification Experience: 3-5 years experience in staff education and development, adult learning and instructional design, or clinical training, preferably in a PACE program or interdisciplinary care model Experience using Learning Management Systems (i.e. Relias or other) and developing training content, highly desired Experience in PACE, long‑term care, geriatric healthcare, or multi-sites medical group preferred. Understanding of regulatory standards relevant to PACE preferred Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, and documentation skills. Pay Range Disclosure: In accordance with the Massachusetts Wage Transparency Act, the pay for this position is $ 115,000-$126,000 annually which reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay at the time of posting. Final compensation will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, and fit with the role’s responsibilities.
