    "description": "<p><span>Scotty's Contracting and Stone is accepting applications for an </span><span><em><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Asphalt Plant Laborer!</span></em> </span><span>The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence and seeking a long- term career opportunity!</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>As a full-time employee of Scotty’s Contracting and Stone, you will be eligible for many of our competitive company benefits including: paid holidays and vacation, medical, dental, and vision insurance, short-term disability, company paid life insurance and long-term disability, and Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) retirement plan!</span> <br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>• </span><span>Perform general labor and housekeeping around the asphalt plant, including shoveling and raking of aggregates (sand, gravel, stone) and asphalt.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>• </span><span>Assist with plant maintenance including greasing and repairs.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>• </span><span>Monitor and maintain cleanliness of plant grounds, walkways, and work areas to ensure a safe environment.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>• </span><span>Assist with plant start-up, shutdown, housekeeping, greasing, and maintenance as required.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>• </span><span>Operate equipment such as skid steers and dump trucks (off road).</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>• </span><span>Clean and maintain common areas such as the shop, restroom, and control room, to ensure a safe and orderly environment.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>• </span><span>Support plant operations by performing additional tasks as assigned by plant operator or other team members.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions such as cold, heat, and humidity.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and overtime as needed.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Must not be afraid of heights.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Must be self-motivated and able to work without constant supervision.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and </span><span>equipment for the task.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Work Environment: Comfortable working primarily outdoors, including occasional night shifts, with exposure to uneven terrain, dust, dirt, and a wide range of weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, and rain.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Proximity Hazards: Must be alert and able to work safely near heavy mobile equipment.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Climbing: Must possess the physical ability to safely climb on and off mobile equipment located more than 10 feet off the ground on uneven terrain, multiple times per day. Additionally, must be able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders at heights up to 100 feet.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Balance: Including the ability to stand and walk on extremely slick or uneven surfaces while carrying equipment or materials.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Awkward Positions: Getting to and from both sitting and kneeling on the ground.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">• </span><span>Heavy Lifting: Awkward parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. from floor to shoulders, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.</span> <br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Scotty’s Contracting and Stone is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
