    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span><strong><u>POSITION</u>: </strong></span><span><strong>Maintenance Technician 1</strong></span></p>\n<p><span><strong><u>REPORTS TO</u>:</strong></span><span><strong>&nbsp; Maintenance: Maintenance Supervisor</strong></span></p>\n<p><span><strong><u>SUMMARY:</u></strong></span></p>\n<p><span>The Maintenance Technician 1 performs machine repairs, fabrication projects, and preventive / predictive maintenance activities.&nbsp; The Maintenance Technician 1 performs preventive maintenance work as assigned and scheduled by the CMMS.&nbsp; The Maintenance Technician 1 responds to machine repair calls and projects as assigned or directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.</span></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span><strong><u>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Completion of assigned equipment PM activities as scheduled by CMMS.</span></li>\n <li><span>Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.</span></li>\n <li><span>Perform machining operations using lathe, mill, drill press, and bandsaws.</span></li>\n <li><span>Perform fabrication projects using welding and bolted assembly.</span></li>\n <li><span>Complete and accurately enter work activity into CMMS.</span></li>\n <li><span>Daily housekeeping and 5S of work areas and maintenance shop.</span></li>\n <li><span>Required to work mandatory overtime when scheduled.</span></li>\n <li><span>Knowledge and practice of Hutchinson’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements.</span></li>\n <li><span>Other duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong>:&nbsp; None.</span></p>\n<p><span><strong><u>REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span>The employee must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with maintenance staff and personnel from other company departments.&nbsp; Attention to detail, accuracy, completion of scheduled tasks. The employee must have a good mechanical aptitude, and be able to work independently with little or no direct supervision.&nbsp; Employee must understand the role and function of the maintenance organization in a manufacturing environment.&nbsp;</span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span><strong>EDUCATION &amp;/or EXPERIENCE:</strong></span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span>High school diploma or equivalent.&nbsp; Technical certification or minimum two (2) years of equivalent experience.</span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span><strong>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:</strong></span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span>Basic math and problem-solving skills required for measurements, fabrication, and completion of paperwork and reporting.</span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span><strong>COMPUTER SKILLS:</strong></span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span>Employee must be able to navigate and input data into CMMS.</span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span><strong>REASONING ABILITY:</strong></span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span>The employee must have the ability to define problems, draw valid conclusions, and determine a proper course of action.&nbsp; The employee must be able to troubleshoot systems and breakdowns by simplifying problems, process of elimination, and recognized problem-solving techniques.&nbsp; The employee must be able to implement necessary solutions under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or designee.</span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span><strong>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:</strong></span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span>Hilo (fork truck) operator’s license.&nbsp; Scissor lift operator’s license. First Responder and blood born pathogen certification.</span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</strong></span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; walk; bend; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; and regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.&nbsp; The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, to climb, and to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.</span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</strong></span></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:.25in\"><span>The employee will work predominately in a maintenance shop and a manufacturing environment where the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be required including safety glasses, steel toed shoes with metatarsal guards, and hearing protection.&nbsp;The employee may also be required to use a face shield, protective gloves and sleeves, fall protection harness, and hardhat depending upon assigned work tasks.</span></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>",
