Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.</p><p style=\"font-size: 12px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Licensure:</strong> N/A</p><p style=\"font-size: 12px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Additional Skills/Requirements Required:</strong> Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing as applicable. Is knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics. Maintains acceptable standards set by those guidelines. Completes a de-escalation class within 90 days of hire.</p><p style=\"font-size: 12px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred:</strong> Ability to work with elderly patients or act as a companion.</p><p style=\"font-size: 11px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Patient Care: Provides and documents assistance to patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse.<ul><li>Assists/provides patient care throughout the entire patient experience under the direct supervision of the physician and/or the registered nurse.</li><li>Assists in room turnaround, including appropriate cleaning of equipment, supplies, and environment.</li><li>Organizes supplies and equipment as needed.</li></ul></li><li>Nursing Expertise: Assists with patient care while complying with Department, Hospital, and Regulatory policies and procedures.<ul><li>Understands concepts of sterile and non-sterile techniques.</li><li>Adheres to safety measures.</li></ul></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p style=\"font-size: 11px; margin: 4px 0px;\">&nbsp;</p><p><strong>The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><h3 style=\"font-size: 14px; margin: 6px 0px;\"><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></h3><p style=\"font-size: 12px; margin: 4px 0px;\"><strong>Physical Demand Code:</strong> Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping.
