Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton and Enterprise Square, Edmonton. Position Summary Reporting to the Director, Principal Gifts Strategy & Initiatives (PGSI), the Development Officer is a core member of a high-performing, collaborative team dedicated to advancing the University of Alberta's most transformational philanthropic priorities. Working closely with the Director and collaborating closely with the Associate Vice-President of Development and Alumni Relations and the Office of the President, the Development Associate plays a central role in engaging, cultivating, and soliciting principal gift donors. Responsibilities Conduct in-depth research, and have an understanding of the philanthropic trends of post-secondary institutions nationally and internationally. Prepare comprehensive analyses to support the development of strategic and tactical plans for multidisciplinary projects. Supports with all PGSI development activities, including assisting with donor tours, data management, portfolio review, and external/internal projects. Analyze targeted financial data and market trends to make informed recommendations that advance institutional initiatives Leads proactive strategy development and facilitates engagement plans for Principal Giving ($5M+) donors. Collaborates with other fundraisers, academic leaders, and senior university leadership representatives to create and enhance university-wide fundraising strategies. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree is required Minimum3-5 years working in a fundraising or research environment Strong written and oral communication skills with experience in proposal writing Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple and shifting priorities Excellent organization and time management skills Demonstrated problem-solving skills Well-developed level of computer literacy, Google Suite, MS Office Willing and able to travel for work, including staff evening and weekend programs and events Self-motivated, energetic, proactive Knowledge of a wide range of fundraising tools and demonstrated experience with activities throughout the giving cycle Application Instructions Click "Apply Now" to submit your cover letter and resume.
