Learn more about our Charlotte team as well as our Land Development Practice. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why This Role is Exciting</strong></p>\n<p>You’ll get exposure to a wide variety of projects, including:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Higher education campuses</li>\n <li>Healthcare facilities</li>\n <li>Mixed-use and multifamily developments</li>\n <li>National homebuilder communities</li>\n <li>Retail and commercial developments</li>\n <li>Industrial and logistics facilities</li>\n <li>Municipal and local government projects</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>How You’ll Make an Impact</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work within a collaborative team to develop site civil engineering plans and specificationsfor a wide range of land development projects.</li>\n <li>Prepare site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, erosion and sediment control, and related design elements using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other tools.</li>\n <li>Contribute to construction documents, technical specifications, and engineering reports, with a focus on accuracy and high-quality work.</li>\n <li>Support stormwater management, utility design, and sustainable site design solutions that improve community resilience.</li>\n <li>Collaborate closely with colleagues in other VHB offices and disciplines—including transportation, environmental, and planning—on integrated project teams.</li>\n <li>As you gain experience, help train and mentor junior staff on technical standards, tools, and best practices.</li>\n <li>Participate in professional organizations and business development activities as your interests and experience grow.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What You Bring</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Interest in innovative, practical design solutions for complex, real-world projects.</li>\n <li>Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills—you’re comfortable asking questions and collaborating.</li>\n <li>A learning mindset and willingness to work on integrated projects with multidisciplinary teams.</li>\n <li>Commitment to high-quality work, sustainability, and resilience in the built environment.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with land development processes; knowledge of Charlotte-area codes, ordinances, and development regulations is a plus.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BS in Civil Engineeringor a related degree.</li>\n <li>1–3+ years of civil engineering experience (internship, co-op, or full-time) in land development, site design, or related areas.</li>\n <li>EIT licensure or FE Exam passed preferred (or in progress).</li>\n <li>Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).</li>\n <li>Experience with any of the following is a plus:\n  <ul>\n   <li>HydroCAD, WaterCAD, WaterGEMS</li>\n   <li>Microsoft Project</li>\n   <li>BIM 360 or similar cloud collaboration platforms</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Experience in developing site plans, construction documents, technical specifications, and engineering reports is highly valued.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Our Commitment to Your Growth</strong></p>\n<p>We know early-career years are critical.
