These</p>\n<p>monitoring requirements will apply to Appalachian Regional Healthcare patients at a remote location across the</p>\n<p>system. The Telemetry Monitor Technician is responsible for collaboration with clinical staff in order to establish</p>\n<p>appropriate communication with each site. The Telemetry Monitor Technician will be responsible for</p>\n<p>troubleshooting routine technical concerns with equipment and notifying biomedical equipment individuals for</p>\n<p>non-basic repairs.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>1. Monitors multiple patients’ cardiac activity on an electrocardiographic display to</p>\n<p>communicate changes in pattern to appropriate healthcare personnel and appropriately</p>\n<p>respond to alarms for safe patient care.</p>\n<p>2. Monitors and reviews patient information to determine baseline cardiac rhythm and prior</p>\n<p>variances to accurately reflect the patient’s rhythms in the medical record for healthcare</p>\n<p>personnel’s use in determining patient care.</p>\n<p>3. Maintains and updates records on each patient to ensure an accurate record of the</p>\n<p>patient’s cardiac activity and ensure appropriate care can be provided based on the</p>\n<p>results.</p>\n<p>4. Troubleshoots and identifies routine technical concerns with monitoring systems to</p>\n<p>complete appropriate repairs or contact appropriate biomedical equipment individuals ensuring resolution of the concern.</p>\n<p>5. Utilize telephone and overhead page technology to communicate with the patient care team across ARH facilities.</p>\n<p>6. Regular attendance is required in order to carry out the essential functions of the position.</p>\n<p>7. Reviews and meets ongoing education and competency requirements of the role to maintain the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform, within scope, role specific functions.</p>\n<p>8. Other duties, as assigned.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Education</p>\n<p>· High school diploma or equivalent, required. · Successful completion of Electrocardiogram (ECG) Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation course within three months of hire OR a score of 85% or greater on the Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation Challenge Exam upon hire, required. · Completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course, preferred.</p>\n<p>Minimum WorkExperience</p>\n<p>· One year experience as a Telemetry Monitor Technician, preferred. · One year experience with direct patient care, preferred.</p>\n<p>Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities</p>\n<p>· Certification in telemetry monitoring or related field. · Experience in a clinical setting. · Proficiency with telemetry monitoring equipment. · Strong communication skills. · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. · Detail-oriented with strong observational skills. · Knowledge of medical terminology. · Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms accurately. · Team player with a collaborative attitude. · Ability to remain alert and focused during long shifts. · Proficient computer skills for maintaining patient records. · Excellent problem-solving abilities. · Ability to handle high-stress situations effectively. · Commitment to continuing education and skill development. · Strong ethical standards and professional integrity.</p>",
